here goes

….since the hatch imploded.

1) The hatch imploded on day 67 (November 27th). This is both island and real world time.

2) 27 days later is December 24th real world time.

3) Yet on that same day, it is December 26th island time.

The reason for pushing the button was to keep the island in sync with the real world. The day it imploded, the island started gaining 108 minutes per day. After 27 days, the island would gain 2 full days making it look like 29 days since the implosion.

Snake, I really like this idea a lot! Very inventive! +1

Could you expand on your idea, and perhaps put it into a longer time-line frame, for after “the six” return to the real world. Might be interesting!

I’ll be watching for this too…..its very interesting! Does this explain the difference in time for Faradays rocket and the copter ride aswell??

Im too tired to try and work it out lol

I actually think that the purpose of pushing the button was to keep the island OUT of sync with real world time. Because the island was on a different time line, it was hidden from the outside world. Since the button was pushed, the island time is now coming back IN sync with real world time.

    +1

That does not make any sense. Why 108 minutes per day?

  8. TheDaddler Mar 30, 2008 12:24 p.m. Comment: 8

And 108 minutes per day equates to 4.5 minutes per hour. Faraday’s rocket was 31 minutes off. That means the rocket would have had to be in the air for almost 7 hours for the math to work. If I’m not mistaken, he expected it in less than 2 minutes, so that can’t be right.

Also, why is everyone fixated on this “island time” thing? Until I see something in the actual show proving time is distorted, I’m not inclined to believe it. +1 for the idea though and the fact that I’m usually wrong.
