Thomas??

I know, I know, I’m like a dog with a bone. I just won’t let this go…

I’m just convinced that Thomas (Aaron’s dad/Claire’s ex-bf) is Ben’s son. In light of Meet KJ, I wanted to throw out some more tidbits that COULD support this theory.

One line that piqued my interest was when Ben was speaking with Micheal about Walt. He said, ” I don’t blame you, Michael. We did you have your boy. And what wouldn’a man do for his son?”

Assuming that the man in the video being beaten by Widmore is Thomas, as I’ve theorized previously, then perhaps Widmore finally has leverage on Ben and is forcing him to do his bidding. I think the writers develop the story with Karl and Rousseau being shot shortly after this statement to lead us to believe that Ben has Karl and Rousseau shot to protect Alex. This also misdirects us as to the shooters, but as AngeloComet pointed out in his weekly analysis, Alex wouldn’t have to tell the Others that she’s Ben’s daughter. The shooters are from the freighter.

If this was truly foreshadowing Ben killing for the sake of his daughter (well, for what HE thinks is best), then he probably would have said, “What wouldn’t a man do for his child?”

This theory would also support the theory by Jukin that Ben is working with Widmore:

Maybe Ben is being coerced to follow along with Widmore, doing his best to work both sides, until he can recover Thomas. I think that eventually, Ben’s usefulness will wear thin, or perhaps Widmore will discover that Ben has been thwarting his attempts whenever he can, and kills Thomas as punishment. Once that happens, all bets are off for Ben, and he convinces Sayid to become his attack dog, as seen in The Economist.
