i think last nights episode provided us with some vital information.

It seems that whoever leaves the island can not be happy after. We saw Michael alone and suicidal after he got off the island In the flashforwards Hurley ends up in an institute, Jack turns into a loser and Saiyd works for Ben! Sun has her nbaby alone. This leads me to the conclusion that all these people were brought to the island for a reason and if they do not carry out this destiny they will never be happy. I mean i expected Michael to be happy once he had what he wanted -to be away from the island with Walt So whatever the reson they are all there it must be pretty big and when someone leaves the island it is almost like it is forced and unnatural for them to do so. I have thought this for a while but last nights episode confirmed it for me leave the island and happiness will not follow.
