I’m not a mathematician but i remember a little from school still. I was reading some posts here and rewatching episodes and starting thinking about the Valenzetti equation. Then i remembered all the Constants that are part of the mathematics of geomety, chemistry etc. Like Avagadros number, Planks Constant and of course good old Pi. Without these constants their respective equations woudn’t work.

Lets take Pi. Thats a easy one. The area of a circle is Pi times the radius squared.. Now the radius can be anything, a variable. You take that variable, put in in that eqaution and you get yourself a cirlce. Pi, the constant, makes it a cirlce. Without that constant, its just jumble of muck.

Ok… the valenzrtti equation. There must be some sort of constant that makes the equation work.

So Desmond is Faraday’s “constant” and Penny is Desmond’s. So far only people are “constants” to anyone else. Are these people the Constants that are required for the Valenzetti equation to work? Do they fit into some formula the island is trying to balance? Can it be said that without these people alive and interacting with the island a “course correction” wil take place?(like if desmond married Penny instead of joining the army, he would never have gotten to the island) Is that why the island won’t let Michael can’t kill himself? Is Michael a required constant in the V-equation?
