He’s already gotten off the island in the chopper with Sayid. So far his main motivation for anything is getting back to Penny no matter what. I like the ‘body in the coffin is the sixth member’ idea. But why would Desmond get so close to getting to Penny, just to turn around and go back to that turd hole of an island that has kept him away from Penny? Unless for some reason he stays behind because of Mr Widmore. Or… Penny comes to the island. Wouldn’t that be a nice twist.

is there not some of webmaster for this site? In particular, the most current episode so far is season 3 eipsode 22?
Desmond was not on Oceanic Flight 815. therefore he was not on the manifest, therefore he can not be a member of the Oceanic 6.
Desmond cant be a member of the Oceanic 6, purely because he wasnt on Oceanic….so he may or may not get off the island but just be some random bloke who was already lost on the island, or not publicised atall.
Desmond wasn’t on the plane and cannot be one of the Oceanic 6

There is an owner of this site and he does a wonderful job, in fact he vists the site often. Recently he’s had some tecnical problems with the site due to the increased traffic and this may have slowed him down in updating the season 4 info.
i have to agree with my fellow posters-no Oceanic ticket=not a member of the Oceanic 6. my theory re: Desmond Desmond + Penny= Adam + Eve
