First of all this is not properly a theorie, just a thought. Second, if you didnt read The Dark tower series (Stephen king) you should, but if you didnt and you plan to do so dont read this cos it would ruin the end for you.

In the book at the end we learn that the story is a circle, and the gunslinger go round and round trying to change the future ( that become really his past) every time since to be able to make little changes but ultimatly is condemmed to repeat it. I find this really interesting because some of the other theories talk about a jack going back in the past to change things. In the novel the gunslinger cant remember going in the past, just do it all over again. We know to that Stephen is a fan of Lost, and one or more of the writters are fans of S. K.

    I know what you mean.

But when I think about it, there could be at least tens of thousands of people or more who read the Dark Tower Series and are now watching the show. Also the Stand. So we(and sai King, lol) have appreciated all the similarities so far, however, taking the ending of the Dark Tower and putting it in the show might be a bit too much, don’t you think ?

I’m sure either way it will be pretty exciting though.

I think you are on to something here. I just finished Via Domus and the ending ties into your theory also. +1

Oh and btw, have you heard about the Dark Tower movie/tv project ? Abrams has agreed with King to film DT for 19 dollars :)

I don’t know schaerids…I could see the writers ‘borrowing’ from King. After all maybe they assumed that a T.V. audience is not as educated as a literary audience and maybe they didn’t anticipate much cross-over.

    LOVE the DT series!!

So what are you saying? That Jack is given the opportunity each time he relives this reality to go back and change something that may alter his presence/non-presence on the island? It is his “ka”? The only question I have is “What is the Dark Tower to Jack”? In DT, Roland had a definite mission. A life mission in fact. He wanted to reach the Dark Tower. And in the end the tower held nothing for him but broken memories and the charge to relive his journey again and again until he “got it right”. What represents the tower for Jack here? What is the thing he is supposed to be rewarded with if he gets it all right? Rescue? Redemption? Acceptance of his father? His wife not leaving him? And what about the other characters? Are they all just like Roland/Jack in that they too are cursed to relive the island experience until they get their own life right in some way?

Interesting theory, though. And +1 cause you have awesome taste in literature!!

Just a little extra thought…… In the DT series the world goes wrong cos some people try to replace magic with science……any bells? And there are certains similarities between the darma stations and a dogan…… I dont know..just fooling around with this. I dont thinks the story would end like the series, but i think is definitively and influence on the show. About spelling and grammar… english is not my mother language so excuse my errors Thanks

Maybe, this could tie in with Charlie…the looking glass?

And Via Domus was terrible! The ending was the best bit!

And did anyone notice Jeremy Davies’ character is named Farraday? That was one of Flagg’s aliases, which leads me to believe that ultimately he will be evil.
