I propose that Charlie is one of the “other two survivors that died after the crash” that Jack testified about.
Okay I have posted a couple of comments about this and saw one other member post on it (can’t remember your name or what post, sorry) but I want to test the theory that Charlie is one of the #7 or #8 “survivors that died after the crash” that Jack mentioned in Kate’s trial. We know who the O6 are but now are wondering who the 7th and 8th are that Jack said survived the crash but died on the island before rescue. I have heard great arguments for Claire being one of them and I agree. She had to have the baby. That is, of course, assuming that the world knows that the Aaron that Kate has is the same Aaron that Claire gave birth to. (Still cant explain why they would give the baby to a known fugitive and convicted murderer, but I digress…)
I think the other is Charlie. The reason is because Charlie is the only one of them that has had any contact with the outside world. This was when he spoke with Penny in the underground station just before he drown. :( Unless Penny has been convinced to keep quiet about Charlie having survived the crash, (or unless Penny is dead but I wont believe that!!) it tells me that one of them HAS to be Charlie. Surely Penny would say it was a lie if they were trying to say Charlie did not survive the crash. Of course, I do realize that nobody else on the island except Des knows that Charlie actually spoke to Penny. Least not that I remember.
I know lots of people are saying that Jin is one of the other “survivors who died on the island.” I think that is possible, but I dont think it is necessarily true. Maybe Sun lied and said that she was already pregnant before she got to the island. Or maybe Kate lied and said that Claire and her baby died in the crash…I dont know. I think it could be either Jin or Claire, but I really really believe that one of them is Charlie. Maybe this is because I want Charlie back desperately…haha!!
Any thoughts? I tried to search around to see if this has already been posted but didnt find anything. I apologize if it has, but humor me, please. Hehe.

Well, I’m not exactly convinced but it does seem possible, due to that contact with Penny. His body is still out there, so maybe it gets retrieved on the way out?
Whatever the case I’m sure that whoever the 6 told the media where the two other survivors that died will have a huge bearing on how the story unfolds.
Love charlie, but this is ify. O_6 = Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun & Michael. +2 = Jin & Claire [dead] Stay Behind or Die on Island - Rose, Bernard, Sawyer & Locke, Don’t count = Ben, Juliet, Desmond, Aaron, Danielle & anyone else who ISN’T on the official manifest of the flight.
Sandamtodd - so you think Penny is either keeping quiet about speaking with Charlie or unable to say for some reason (dead, captured, threatened to keep quiet, etc)?
