things dont stay buried on this island

— ruggur7987

this relates to a previous theory of mine: http://lost-theories.com/theories/2008/mar/04/can-you-die-island/

can you die on the island?

here i am again, still on the same subject. why? because i know there is something going on and i want to try and prove it.

when deciding to burn the plane wrekage bodies instead of burying them. jack says ‘ whatever we bury wont stay buried for long’

locke says to boone ‘ things dont stay buried on this island’

but these both have explainations as to why they were said, so i didnt go into it with much detail. but when rewatching the first series i noticed something that made me think there could be more to this theory than everyone gives it credit for.

when charlie and hurlley are burying ethan, charlie says ‘i can bury him’ and hurley replies ‘ yeah, until he rises from the dead’ (another hint) but then theres a shot just after this that shows ethans ‘body’ clearly breathing. his chest is going up and down. now this could be dismissed as an error in acting/editing etc. but when i examined the picture i got the impression that this was meant to be noticed, its a clue. the shot is of the body slightly silhoetted by the sunsetting horizon making the movment of the chest obvious to someone looking for it. the editors of lost surely would have noticed this terrible mistake and corrected it. but they didn’t and i believe that this was not a mistake but a clue.

im only half way through reviewing the first series and have found all the above already. so im going to continue to look and will post any further discoveries and maybe sway some people to my theory.

please don’t comment until you review this specific scene. its on the episode 16 ‘outlaws’ . and please nobody comment saying ‘there are explanations for it all because i know all the explainations, im just saying that perhaps the quotes have two meanings.

People die on the island, i.e. the dharma folks who died in the purge. There is a pit filled with their bodies that Locke “discovered” with Ben’s help.

i just want to say ‘things dont stay buried on this island’ is just a metaphor for saying basically u cant keep secrets on the island

lockeko and mclark, you obviously didnt read the whole message did you now. i said dont comment giving me explainations, i know that it was a metaphore for secrets but i clearly stated that i am saying that it may have a double meaning.

Rug, I get that things may have double meaning, and agree that Ethan may still be alive, but people can die on the island. That’s all I’m saying.

This would not be true based on the fact that we saw Goodwin’s dead decomposing body when Ben shows it to Juliet.

im asking people to look at the scene and comment about that not just comment about anything they can think of to disprove the theory. its getting very frustrating.

Ruggur, I’m in line with your thinking. Each individual reference about not staying buried etc, alone means nothing. But when it repeats, then it seems like something to it. usually when the writers repeat material, I think it means something. Go Zombies !
