I was agreeing with the others saying that Aaron had to be one of the O6, until I realized that there would be no way Child Protective Services (or whatever they call it in CA) would let her keep a child that was not her own (maybe not even a child she had given birth to) while on trial for murder. Right? They would have known that she was not pregnant when she was in government custody, and there is no way she could have gotten pregnant and carried a child to term in the short time that she will be on the island. I just can’t see any realistic way that, with her dubious past, that CPS would allow her to keep Aaron.
So my question is this: how does Aaron get off the island, and how in the world, before her name is cleared, is she allowed to have custody of some kid she met on the island?

I’m wondering the same thing. Even if he were passed off as her own child somehow, she’s have a hard time being allowed to keep him, they’d have sent him to the nearest relative. It makes me think he’s a secret and they simply don’t know about him.
Because she claims she gave birth to him on the island.
How would they know that she wasn’t pregnant in custody. I don’t see the special agent giving two f###s about her condition at the time.
Ok, assuming she was pregnant when she was taken into custody, she could have only been a few weeks along, otherwise it would’ve been quite obvious to anyone that she was pregnant (protruding stomach). Even then, she was not on the island anywhere CLOSE to long enough to carry a child to term (9 months), and show up with him being 2,3 or 4 months old. She would have had to been on the island for approximately a year for all of that to add up!
Even though they have only been on the island roughly 100 days, whose to say they go directly home when they leave the island and whose to say they didn’t spend additional days or months off island before their “rescue” is made known to the world at large. We know in Sun’s flashforward she is in Korea In the ninth month of her pregnancy leading into the birth of her daughter, but she also tells Daniel she is 2 months pregnant so there is about 6 to 6 1/2 months not accounted for. Even is Kate was to say she was 3-4 months along in a “pregnancy” and then there is the unnaccounted for 6 months plus Aaron wasn’t born for 3-4 weeks after they crash landed. I think they could fudge his age slightly to work him into plausably being her son. I think public knew about Aaron just for the simple fact that she tells the laywer not to use her son in the court proceedings, but could Aaron really have done in court except to show she is a responsible person now. It seems to me that they would have taken him from her given the circumstances of the court case, but maybe that Oceanic “lawyer” that goes and talks to Hurley and the mental hospital has a finger in all of this yet.
Kate would have a hard time bringing a non-US resident into the country and adopting him before her trial. There must have been some kind of coverup like people are theorizing.
Lostlite ‘Because she claims she gave birth to him on the island.’
At the courthouse where Jack testifies there is no mention of an island or what so ever. I dont think Kate would have been able to use that excuse
