We should bring Naomi home.

— JacksEyes

In the Economist, Sayid suggests to Frank that they should “Bring Naomi home” on the helicoper. Is it just me or does that suggest that he knows both Naomi and Frank at least from the freighter and probably before in Naomi’s case. Otherwise he would have suggested that they “take” Naomi home.

As an aside, he also says that he will only trust Ben “Once I have sold my soul”. Maybe he does.

I should have referenced Fez999’s related theory below. I too believe that Naomi might be Nadia’s daughter. Though probably not his.

I believe that Sayid has very strong convictions about how the dead ought to be treated due to his religion.

The reason he ended up on board 815 was because he delayed the flight the FBI originally laid out for him so he could ensure his friend received a proper burial.

Similarly, I can remember how appalled he was when Jack suggested, in those very early days, that they burn the fuselage with the bodies inside to stop animals from desecrating the corpses.

As such, I interpreted Sayid’s request to “bring Naomi home” as stemming from his beliefs in respect for the dead, and giving Naomi a proper funeral now the opportunity, for the first time on the Island, presented itself.

Yes Jackseyes, i definately think that Sayid and Frank know each other somehow plus, when they land on the freighter there seems to be an understanding between everyone except Desmond.

The two crooked looking chaps ( cant rememeber there names) looked as though they were familiar with Sayid and had an understanding, the whole thing looked very shady, plus Frank admitted he was trying to help Sayid (when they exchanged the gun and the sat phone)

As Frank and Sayid burst into the Sick Bay the evil looking doctor said to Frank “You shouldn’t be down here, especially not with him” (Him being Sayid)

There’s more answers coming, i just want to know what the crack is with the Black Smoke.

    +1 dude

How come we’ve never seen Naomi’s body since we were told she’d be on the chopper???

I simply took it to mean he was also going on the helicopter. If they left in the helicopter with Naomi’s body, but left Sayid standing in the clearing, they would be taking her home. Since he was also in the helicopter, they were bringing her. I’m pretty sure it’s as simple as that: Sayid speaks with proper grammar.
