dissapearing bodies

— ruggur7987

i know you lot are probably going to be thinking ‘whats this guy chatting about’. and i know its a bit ‘out there’ and your all probably not gonna be interested because its so out there. but…………..

ive noticed that every time they had a body they have buried it and some of the dead charicters keep popping up again in the episodes. eg boone/charlie. and i just wondered are the bodies still there where they buried them??

i started thinking this when i remembered christian shepard’s body dissapearing from the coffin and appearing around the island. and i then thought that what happened to the bodies that have been buried. have they dissapeared too?

I don’t have an answer for you, but I have wondered the same thing, if the buried remain buried. Just speculation due to the others burning their fead, and the comment (Locke or ??) made, something about things not staying buried on the island. (I haven’t re-watched so a little fuzzy on that)

The Locke quote you are referring to is “Things don’t stay buried on this island.” He is saying it to Paulo because Paulo comes to Locke for help wit his problem. His problem being that he wants to hide the diamonds from Nikky so they don’t have to fight over them anymore. Locke is referring to secrets staying buried, not bodies.

But as far as the theory goes, I can’t say your wrong because nobody honestly knows.

you never know, the writers may be adding a small clue. i mean how many times has there been double meanings to quotes.

I took it as a possible double meaning, and then soon after they buried Paulo and Nikki…..

yesyesyes I totally agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK two things:

1 remember the others and how they had that woman’s body sail away into the ocean. they didn’t want the body to stay on the island

2 the whispers- they are almost always saying things that would make sense for people who have died to say. for example: one whisperer talked about shannon, similar to how boone would - read the transcripts if you havn’t. I think that the dead bodies on island whipser. please respond to this commment!!

Interesting (+1) but didn’t they dig the Marshall up ? But then maybe he hadn’t been dead long enough.

Sayid also dug up Henry Gale.

I think it might be if the person appeared on the Island after their deaths, then their bodies are missing. Christian Shepard and Yemi are examples of this. The Marshall, Henry Gale, Shannon, Nikki, Paolo, Eko, and Libby have not appeared on the Island so their bodies are still buried. Boone and Ana-Lucia appeared as visions and dreams so I’m not sure about them. Charlie is another I’m not sure about since he appeared outside the Island.

hey, sorry i enjoy reading all these theories but this one just made me have to register to simply say “Things don’t stay buried on this island.” is simply a metaphor for secrets wont stay secret.

i use the phrase ‘that wont stay buried you know’ all the time.

i am aware that john locke the character was meaning the phrase as the phrase that it is. im not denying that at all. what im saying is that maybe this was the writers giving us a subtle clue that it would seem (if it is a clue) has fooled alot of people.
