According to what Daniel Faraday explains to jack and Juliet, Saheed and Demond’s helicopter ride will take only 20 mins once they are flying to the freighter.

But while u are at the Island, saheeds and desmond’s helicopter ride will feel as if it has taken about 24 hours to the freighter. If we guess the Oceanic 6 were on the island for about 100 days then in off the island time it would be only about 36 hours the plane was missing to the general public! Please shed light on this

Time must pass at the same rate both on the island and off, or the phone conversations would sound really really slow.

The time change only appears to effect objects traveling to or away from the island. So, I suspect the island generates some sort of field, like a moat around a castle. Time travels at a different rate inside the moat.

I am not saying that my numbers are 100% accurate but its very well possible that the oceanic 6 were on the island a lot shorter than what they think

yeah, there is definately a time anomaly on the island. i think that this time delay thing might be a technique to throw viewers off track

The problem is that the Losties have been on the island for about 90 days, making it about Christmas. And on the outside world it is … about Christmas.

Seems the only lost time is time wasted trying to make the times not match up.
