- Flag this theory:
We must not forget that, Jack is our hero. He was chosen by his people to be their leader not only because of his incredible skills, but also because he was a good man.
Jack will become the leader of the island when he returns, that’s his destiny, and he finally admitted it. He wants to go back. He ‘ll become the successor of John. Now let’s take a look at what could be the list of the successive kings of the Island:
-Jacob? -Christian? -Benjamin -John -Jack -Aaron? …sounds pretty biblical.
What do some of them have in common? They were unhappy, had to make decisions that caused many people to die, but they never wanted to kill innocents, they are good people but destiny made them do bad things, sometimes they even became madmen.
Now to Jack walking amongst us but not one of us, a lot of people now think Jack was on the island before, blah, blah he woke up on his back blah blah, I don’t like that theory. I prefer this theory:
-Jack is not one of us because he’s one of the chosen people, chosen to be the leader of the island. He has a communion with the island like John and Benjamin, and , as long as he was staying, he was ok, but when he chose to leave, the island made him sick.
His decisions caused the deaths of many people, but we can’t blame him for the explosion, we must blame Keamy or Benjamin.
Remember Isabel talking with Jack about his tattoos. She said :but the Chinese I find… a bit ironic. I couldn’t understand what she found ironic but now I think she meant : the fact that Jack has a tattoo saying that he is one of the chosen people, a great man , without even knowing it, is ironic, you see what I mean?
Ok that was it, peace.

I think the inscrutable Chinese saying on Jack’s arm may have another meaning. It may also mean, “He is one of us, although he does not walk among us”. In other words, Jack may have walked away from the Losties. He may have tried to run from his responsibility for them. But he’s still their leader, whether he’s among them or not. He’s come to that realization now, and that’s why he has to go back.
I like this idea, Although I seem to remember When Ben took Jack, Kate and Sawyer captive in Season three that Tom was talking to Pryce in the Hall about Ben and he said to Tom that Jack wasn’t even on Jacob’s list of people to take. So if Jack is the successor why wouldn’t Jacob want to meet with him?
Yes i do think that Jack will become the leader when he gets back. We can see that Jack has lost the love of the fans lately, so i think that Jack will revive himself when he gets back.
Maybe Jack wasn’t on Jacob’s list because Jacob sees him as a threat to his power - or maybe it has something to do with Christian.
I Hate WHO IS JACOB theories. But he is jack.
For sure, that sherriff woman has been abused bcos her part in the show seemed pointless, but maybe what ever she said was to be taken seriously, he walks among us but he is not of us, Jack replies by saying, its what it says, its not what it means (WHAT THE HELL) His tattoo is ever changing aswell, so there must be certain points in his life where he got a bit added on, like when he became the leader??
I think Jack is Jacob too! Everyone else has came into contact with their manifestations, JACK HASNT bcos of the thing about “not letting them near each other” TM +1
