I think that maybe the writers did it on purpose

I wrote this theory at my lost blog (click here to view it in full: http://www.lost-isle.net/2008/06/09/the-hidden-clue-in-the-pilot/) and thought you guys might like to read it.
The LOST writers have always said there’s a big clue in the Pilot episode and now that Season Four has finished, I think I may have found it!
Remember in “The Shape of Things to Come”, when we see Ben lying on the ground in Tunisia, appearing to have only woken up? At that point we didn’t know how he ended up there. But as the Season Finale progressed we are set to believe that Ben ended up there as a result of “moving the Island”.
Now, in the very first scene of The Pilot, we see Jack Shepherd lying in the middle of the jungle when he wakes up.
To me, this scene and the first scene of “The Shape of Things to Come” are very similar, and I think that maybe the writers did it on purpose.
I’m not sure the why’s and what’s, but maybe the Island set Jack up in that position so that eventually Jack could return (from the past or from the future? Who Knows?) & repeat the events that have already happened, but this time, do them correctly?
EDIT:
I don’t know the reason why Jack is in that position in the Pilot, I just mentioned repeating events for the mere thought of finding a way to justify why he is there, and a suggestion…
The main thing about this theory really is to magnify the similarities between Jack waking up in the jungle, and Ben waking up in Tunisia. I thought they were too much of a coincidence not to mean anything. I think it has to mean something.
And I apologise if this has been mentioned, but I did look beforehand on this site and many other sites, and saw no mention of this. Please point me in the right direction if there is already a post/theory on this! :)
Thanks.

Yeah, this theory and many like it have been posted here before, its a pretty overused topic(the losties keep doing the same things over and over again). Good try.
Yeah I know that it’s been posted before, I even posted a theory before Season 4 about how they’re doing things over and over…
BUT I didn’t know it had been posted with the similarities with Jack and Ben. (I apologise if it has, but I couldn’t find any other post with this in).
I don’t even know if it’s because they’re doing things over and over again - I just thought the similarities between Jack waking up in the jungle and Ben waking up in Tunisia were too much of a coincidence not to be pointed out.
there’s actually an odd object lying next to jack in the pilot episode, that looks similar to the baton that ben uses to beat the crap out of those guys in tunisia. some people are thinking that this is part of the whole time-traveling thing. here’s a link to the screencap .

if you search “baton” you should be able to find a couple of these theories :)
real interesting, when desmond flipped the switch in the first station he, locke and mr.echo appereared else where, and if i recall correctly we saw the whole, zoom out from the eyes while lying on ur back shot with locke. so thats locke, ben and jack who have all shared similar shot’s…
‘emzi’: how would locke tie into this, do you think that the island was moved when desmond flipped the switch? after all we then saw ‘penny’s men’ in an igloo somewhere who instantly could see the island when the switch was flipped.
(i apologise in advance for my shat english, me write like flid’)
I’d like to believe this theory, it’s quite interesting. Desmond woke in the jungle as well, but I think he was on his side - if this makes any difference. He did time travel before waking up, he relived his time with Penny before leaving on the boat. But to bring him back to the island he was whacked in the head. So it’s probably not the same thing, but this could be because he affected the island in a different way.
Or was this just a dream? Has it ever been stated?
That thing near Jack’s head in the pilot looks absolutely nothing like the weapon Ben carries…
Of course this has been said before… lots of times. Mostly right after “The Shape of Things to Come” aired. I think the similarities are significant.
highbrow: that maybe why I hadn’t seen any theories like this. I’m in the UK and the episodes were airing 10 days later than in the US so I avoided this site, and many others, during that time. Thanks for pointing that out though :)
From Lostpedia.com: “Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof explicitly referred to this as a “false rumor” in the April 16, 2007 podcast, and gave a rundown on all the big mysteries from the Pilot and when and how those had been answered. The only real remaining mystery would be Charlie’s last line from the end of part 2, asking “Guys, where are we?”.
when are people going to quit with this “pilot episode clue” junk!?!?
Lets keep at this… I’m sure there’s a huge clue in the pilot episode! Everyone go back and watch it again!
I definitely think it has to do with the very first scene of Jack lying on the ground. I think it has to do with how far away from everyone else he is. I find that very strange.
“when are people going to quit with this “pilot episode clue” junk!?!?”
Okay, so maybe there isn’t a big clue in the pilot, but there is a similarity between the two scenes that look like they mean something.
fine by me. but stop pretending like its the “hidden clue in the pilot episode”. call it what it is, a theory of Jack travelling back in time and re-living the crash.
It’s been known there’s supposodly a big clue in season one, I thought I’d picked up on it, so therefore title of the post.
Not only is it relevant, but it attracts more readers… even if it is only to tell me to stop harping on about big pilot episode junk! :)
No biggie ;)
I think we’re on the same wave length— I just posted a similar theory. Sorry if it’s redundant, but I do think we’re moving the ball forward by sharing our thoughts with each other.
