I think they made a mistkae in the finale.
Juliette is sat on the beach looking the ship in the distance that had blown up when sawer emerges from the sea. she is sad and getting drunk because she thinks everybody died. But hang on, when we cut to the helicopter travelling from the boat to the island, they can clearly see the island. Why can’t Julietee or Sawer see the helicopter coming towards them??
Also, we know lots of the losties got to the boat courtesy of Daniel taking them there by the smaller boat. When Juliette was on the beach, she was the only one there. Where was Rose, Bernard and the other losties? Were they on the boat and got blown up. Surely if Juliette had seen the boat blow up others would have too?
Any comments or ideas are welcome…
I think Juliet had taken herself off for a drink and a quiet moment of misery as she realised she was never leaving the Island.
As such, she was away from whoever else was left on the Island (including Rose and Bernard), and, therefore, perhaps not in the direct trajectory of the helicopter.
but the helicopter was coming straight from the freighter, she must have seen it, the helicopter didn’t have enough fuel to travel any other way than directly to the island as the crow flies, and that was right in front of where juliette had positioned herself.
Another point is how many losties are actually left on the island. Daniel had taken most to the freighter, so they will be dead now, there wasn’t many left on the beach was there!?!
John Locke, Rose, Bernard, Sawyer, Juliet and Charlotte are all on the island. Not so sure as to why the O6 would be so desperate to save these people as Rose and Bernard want to stay on the island as Rose is ‘cured’ when she is there and the only other one they have a bond with is Sawyer. Maybe the smoke blocked the view of the helicopter? It would be very small and only really gains height when the frieghter explodes. In my opinion the biggest mistake in the finale was Daniel maybe dying or being stranded in the middle of the ocean whilst annoying Juliet and Charlotte are still alive and well- sad, sad times!
Don’t forget Miles…he’s on the island with charlotte! Also most of the people Daniel took back were all the extras except Sun and Aaron in the first trip, the main characters are still on the island.
but the main characters are not on the island are they?
Rose and Bernard, Sawer, Locke, Claire and Juliette you could argue Cindy although she is an other now thats it, the rest of the main cast or off the island or are now dead!
i can understand jack and kate returning for claire, i can understand to a degree Ben going back, if nothing else Juliette, but Sayid, Hurley and Sun, they would have no reason to go back
Miles daniel and chroltte maybe on the island, but they wouldn’t care about them or even protecting them
I don’t agree with your helicopted comment, it was a clear blue sky, there is no way they wouldn’t have noticed them!
Is it possible the freighter was never in sight, just the huge explosion and smoke?
Yeah… I thought all Juliet could see was the pillar of smoke on the horrizon…
I think it’s a valid point, and that johnsobit and highbrow probably have the answer.
