Sun obviously could not purchase controlling shares in such a large company as Paik Heavy.
I may be wrong, but I think that even if all the O6 pooled their money from their settlement and even including Hurley’s lotto winnings, that would still not be enough money.
Did Penny explain to the O6 on her boat that her father is involved with the island and what he would do to the remaining losties if he found the island? Therefore, Penny told the O6 they had to lie about what happened. Possibly she and Sun came up with the idea of purchasing Paik Heavy Industries using Penny’s money so they can figure out how to get back to the island.
I have no proof for any of this, but it seems interesting to me.

In the first episode of the next season, I think Penny will discuss with Jack how the story will be presented. We still don’t know why Kate is taking over as Aaron’s mother or why they are saying there were 8 survivors from the 815 crash and that only 6 made it (Jin not being included in these numbers). As soon as Jack sees Penny he said “we need to talk” so I’m sure the two of them decide how to best protect everyone’s interests.
furthermore what happens to Des and Lapidus, do they have to return, where are they post island?
i think wat paiks assistants were talking about right before sun came in involved sun. she stoled the money with “6 different banks”
AresGodOfWar-My impression was that she used 6 different banks to complete the transaction so as not to tip off her fathers company. I do agree however that the settlement money from Oceanic would probably not be enough to garner a controlling interest in her Fathers company. Who knows what the actual value of Paik Industries really is though. Add in the fact that she also recieved money for Jin as well and you just never really know.
