This isn’t really thought out at all, it just kind of occurred to me randomly around midnight last night, which is why it’s probably so ridiculous. Anyway, I thought I’d put it up here mostly for fun. If it offends any “serious Lost theorists” I’m sorry but part of speculating about a show is supposed to be having some fun while doing it.
Ok so now on to the really crazy part. I think Kate might be Annie. I have a few very weak pieces of “evidence.”
1) Kate uses the alias Annie once.
2) Kate and Annie both have freckles.
3) Kate is 28 and so far this part is going nowhere, I tried to figure out how old Annie was when we first met her (I was thinking around 10 but not sure) plus we don’t know for sure how long it’s been since Ben got to the island.
Anyway, like I said this is just in general a very weak theory so go ahead and rip apart but please don’t be rude about it because I know it’s weak.

I noticed the Kate-Annie alias too and stopped to wonder if there was a connection…
I really wish you wouldn’t have slapped up a random idea up with no connections besides freckles and an alias. You could have something if you developed it. Think about her childhood friend Tom “Brennan” and how that name was on Daniell’s transmission “Brennan took the keys” what about her stepfather and how he was in dessert storm with sayid and kelvin…who both ended up on the island. What might that have to do with anything? I know this “idea” got you excited to write something on LT but why throw it up if you know how weak it is? It’s not a theory without evidence from the show. At least a timeline would be nice. freckles and an alias are a great basis for a theory but you need to add some stuff. BTW I’m not trying to be an a-hole. But this got me thinking and I’m too lazy for that. I want everything laid out on a silver platter. +1 anyways for an original take on annie
This is supposed to be fun and crazy. I too made the connection between Annie and Kate, but who knows what will happen in the end? I just enjoy reading the theories and enjoy the thought provoking questions that you all bring up. Maybe some day I will come with something awesome to share, but in the meantime, keep up the good work!! Namaste :) +1 from me

her name is katherine ANNE austin so maybe she is annie
Thanks for all the feedback, it was a lot better than I expected. Does anyone know Annie’s age at all? I was going to go back to the episode of the flashback and see if anyone says it but I couldn’t remember which episode it was.
I think Annie would be around the same age as Ben, who according to Lostpedia was born in the early 60’s.
Novanca: If you haven’t checked it out yet, Lostpedia.com is a great way to get some evidence and background on your theories. It’s incredibly helpful, and filled with lots of interesting tidbits. +1 for posting an original idea! :-)
From Lostpedia: On the DVD commentary track for “The Man Behind the Curtain” Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse describe Annie and Alexandra as the two most significant women in Ben’s life. Annie is described as a character that is going to play a “huge part” in upcoming storylines: “Annie is going to prove to be very significant in Ben’s life,” and that even the island’s volcano will be “slightly less important than Annie, but still seismic.”
Meaning, we’re going to see Annie in season 5, as they didn’t show her in season 4 (and as we know, some stuff got put off due to the writers strike).
I still think Annie is Rousseau. Rousseau was just left to live on the island, with a story that doesnt add up and keeps changing. She is also a brunette, like Annie and dANNIElle is also another coincidence.
Of course, if it isn’t Rousseau, it would seem likely that Ben will find Annie in the “real world” before he manages to get himself and the O6 back to the island.
How does Rosseau have an accent and Annie doesn’t? An accent as pronounced as Rosseau’s doesn’t just appear. It’s possible, I guess. I honestly think anything’s possible on this show after watching all the seasons again recently because there have been so many twists so far. It’s also possible we haven’t even met Annie’s character yet or don’t even realize it’s her from someone we have seen. If we didn’t see Annie in season 4, then how is she Rosseau? Not trying to be an a-hole or anything but she’s in the seaon finale

so then which family member of kate’s was on the island…. her dad ? no no no annie is not kate… she is not rosseau …. I am sorry to come off as rude however I just don’t see either of these as feasible options.. -1
Everyone should check out technoprep’s livejournal thing, it’s really well written. Timechild: maybe there’s a family member we haven’t met. I mean, maybe she was adopted or something and we just don’t know or maybe she’s living under the alias Kate Austen and knows that her “family” isn’t really her family.
Technoprep: you said in your livejournal that one of Darlton had confirmed that Kate is Annie and was wondering if you ever found the link to where they said that. (“Either Carlton or Damon have confirmed this is true, but I am still looking for the link…once found, I’ll post.”) If you did or can and post it up here, that’d be awesome.

I just read your blog post, and I gotta say… I think you’re right… Very good observations. Nicely done!
Good theory, but, I was connecting Annie with Charlotte, cause I remember Miles saying to Charlotte somthing like “I dont see why u wanna leave the island after all that time u were looking for it” and then Charlotte says to Daniel Faraday that she is not coming on the boat with them, and adds: “would u beleive if I said u I’m still looking for the place I was born”. That means she is born on the island. I though she might be Annie…
Novanca, I meant we didn’t see the Annie storyline that the producers have mentioned seeing. If there had been more episodes, like originally thought, that storyline might have been visited, but with the season cut short, and the producers confirming we will see Annie as being important in Ben’s life, then Season 5 is more than likely to be where it is seen.
IF Rousseau is Annie, yes she was in Season 4, but she wasn’t in Season 4 as Annie. If you see what I mean now.
Also, Charlotte can’t be Annie. Different hair colour to start with, and Annie would be about the same age as Ben, which Charlotte isn’t.

I’d find it rather creepy if Kate turned out to be Annie. Ben in love with Kate just sounds icky to me. But the evidence it there. I figured Charlotte is Annie’s daughter.
