LOST-Theories.com

I am new to the site and this is my first post so I apoligize if this has already been discussed. There has been alot of discussion as to Faraday’s whereabouts after Locke “moved” the island. I thought of a theory today which might explain where or when he went.

Faraday was in sort of a “no mans land” during the islands move. After desmond passed through this same area he began his time jumping until he found his constant in Penny. The cause of desmond being unstuck in time was a combination of going through an electromagnetic event when he turned the failsafe key and going through the “electrical storm” on his way to the freighter. This is why Sayid did not also experience the time jump. What if the same thing happened to Faraday? Faradays electromagnetic event was the island move and side effects from his previous research at oxford could have given him the same side effects as the electrical storm. It said in his notebook that Desmond was his constant. I think that when desmond visited Faraday at oxford during his time jump Faraday was also experiencing a time jump. At that moment Faraday found his constant and stopped jumping through time. This is how he already has knowledge of the island as seen in his notebook. Now Faraday is stuck in a timeloop starting at the moment he meets desmond to the moment the island is moved. He keeps going back to the island to somehow change events so the crash of 815 never occurs. When he sees the crash on TV and crys it is because he thinks he has suceeded in the previous loop but seeing the crash means he knows he will have to return to the island.

I know there are holes in this theory but I think this is the basis of Faradys character. Please give me your comments.

yeah I like that idea,it fits in with what we see,it would be trippy if it was true, amagian being stuck on a loop…man

I have to say I usually don’t post comments….but this theory is awesome and I love the idea of it. it makes sense as to way faraday is crying, but where is his body right now? Only the mind travels…not the body..any thoughts?

Not sure if its exactly right but I like it, and I do get the impression that Faraday was crying because of some kind of repressed knowledge of the plane crash +1

He cried when the wreckage was found. I’m not sure that a Desmond type jump fits with a time loop.

I prefer thinking that somehow he and the people in the raft were on the islands “bubble” if it has one.
