The Kerr metric permits closed, time-like loops in which a band of travellers returns to the same place after moving for a finite time by their own clock; however, they return to the same place and time, as seen by an outside observer.

In the new DHARMA video Chang/Mittlewick/Candle mentions that he was brought to the island to “conduct experiments to study the Kerr metric solution to the Einstein field equation….” blah blah blah.

Here’s an interesting fact about the Kerr solution:

The Kerr metric permits closed, time-like loops in which a band of travellers returns to the same place after moving for a finite time by their own clock; however, they return to the same place and time, as seen by an outside observer.

What does this mean? I have no idea. I’m no astro-physicist! But you must admit that this small Wikipedia excerpt just pulled back a MAJOR layer on the onion that is LOST.

I just did a search using “Kerr Metric” and “Magnet” and came up with this site. Many of the diagrams resemble the Dharma Logo MollyCocktail and one section mentions “Submarines”.

Here’s a short line from it.

Transmigratus, past participle of transmigrare to migrate to another place, from trans- + migrare to migrate transitive verb : to cause to go from one state of existence or place to another intransitive verb 1 of the soul : to pass at death from one body or being to another. Sanskrit; Laghima Pranayama / Levitation of the spirit. Axis Mundi / and or / Vimana Laghima

    Very Namaste type stuff. :)

I tend to think you’re so right about the Kerr Metric pulling another layer of the LOST onion. I’ve also been surfing around trying to find out about time and other dimensions since Pierre said it is “the essence”, +1

Oops! Almost forgot to put the site up.

So is that time travel of the soul? Like reincarnation? Or is that more like “Flight of the Navigator” time travel. Where the main character goes and does all of this stuff only to return to where he started from the beginning without affecting anything but himself.
