Could there be a much older Daniel on the Island somewhere?

Ok, I read this theory last night: http://lost-theories.com/theories/2008/aug/01/shape-macro-theories-come/
It was mentioned that Daniel Faraday was the voice heard in the new Orientation Video that’s come to light (at Comic Con) and that he was there with Peter Cheng 30 years ago. And I am inclined to believe that.

What if, when the Island dissapeared, Daniel and the rest of the boat went with the Island, but to the Island 30 years ago?
He met Peter Cheng there and told him where he’s come from and what’s happened to the Island in those 30 years. That’s how Peter Cheng new of the purge and who the president of the USA is.
What if Daniel recorded that message and put in a place where Charlotte or another Lostie would find it in the future? What if it’s a message to them to let them know that Daniel is now stuck 30 years in the past and they need to find a way to get him back?
And if they don’t find a way of getting him back from the past - could there be a much older Daniel on the Island somewhere? Could he have died in the purge… or could he be Jacob?
Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but there’s alot of theories on here to go through. :)

well considering the new piece of info from the video, its an interesting thought. I feel that it might be simpler than that but its still good. Also, there still has to be an explanation of his crying when he sees the plane crash
I think that it is more probable that Daniel has become a time traveller rather than simply moving with the island.
Remember in the episode “The Constant” there was that man who started time jumping because he took the boat out to the island to “have a look”. Faraday also went out on a boat to the island but this time the island disappeared. Probably making the factors that caused the man on the boat to start time jumping far more intense. Giving Faraday some new kind of time jumping ability.
snotspill - I agree that there has to be some sort of explaination of why he was crying when he saw the crash on the TV. That bit I’m still trying to get around in my head :)
somethingspecial - Yes Daniel could well be a time traveller - we know that Daniel knows alot more about the Island and the time properties it has, so it could be that he’s time travelled before or has taken on time travel as a result of him going to and from the Island.
It’ll be interesting to see just where (or when) Daniel is in the beginning of Season 5. :)
Nice +1 old Daniel, I don’t know, but as for where he went after the islands shift (not so much his space, but his time) that’s as good as any other theory.
i like the idea well done!
i would be cool to see the O6 finaly get back to the island and find all the other losties have now aged 30 years.
chopperadams - I actually think the losties/others on the Island have gone forward in time to 2007/2008 (the time that Locke started visiting the O6), and somehow Daniel and his “boaties” have gone back in time by 30 years.
Sounds crazy I know, but this is a show where anything is possible :)
Thanks to everyone for their comments :)
Good idea. I was thinking the same thing. I wrote a theory on it. Emzi, one thing though the boties with Daniel are dead.
good work
Terrific theory. If Daniel were transported back 30 years, it is likely that he would communicate with the leading scientist on the island, sharing his expertise and knowledge about the “Casimir effect”. The two could then work together to somehow alter time again, possibly achieving the goal —not only of saving our favorite Lost characters, but the whole planet too! I love it!
Nameless - I took a look at your theory and it seems we’re on the same wavelength :)
Thanks Lockeko.
Atruewalker - thanks for your positive comment and feedback. I like the idea of Daniel and Peter Cheng working together to alter time - there’s so many possibilities that could come from them doing that! :)
Hey everyone, don’t mean to spam, but I’ve written a more indepth version of this theory at my Lost blog if anyone would like to read it :)
