Breaking His code would make him a BAD GUY, he need to hold on to his code so that he will feel he’s the good guy, instead of being a bad guy just not as bad as Windmore.

First theory, ok, so here I go. Ben has many times stated that he is one of the good guys.’s, but he has a pretty strange M.O. He’s a liar, a deciever, a manipulative, he gave orders to abduct people, and to kill other people, but he’s always claming to be the good guy, and he also kept his word in many opportunities.
My theory is that he does have some Code to live by, a code of ethics if wou will……we may never get to fully understand this code, but we are shown that he clearly respects it, at least until last episode. Wether there was or wasn’t an agreement as to what the rules were, maybe he actually considered the rules had changed only meaning that he’d never break the rules (his own code)……but he would adapt it to the one of his enemy. Breaking His code would make him a BAD GUY, he needs to hold on to his code so that he will feel he’s the good guy, instead of being a bad guy just fighting the other bad man. That said, Ben assured in the last scene that he is going to kill Penny Windmore, because his now adapted code allows him to do that…….but he can’t kill Windmore because he was just trying to capture Ben…..as to why Ben doesn’t lock Mr. Windmore up……..it would attract too much attention, which Ben has shown he wants to avoid. Please let me know what you think.
PS: I hope that this really isn’t what Ben turns out to be, but this theory ocurred to my after spending so much time reading about chess and Ben, plus after all he has done it’s really hard for me to admit him as one of the good guys.

i like your theory, but i think that like Michael, the island is protecting Widmore and that’s why he can’t be killed by Ben. It’s almost like a game of chess where the king can’t take the other king.
That’s exactly what I posted in Lostie8176’s theory…..here have a look: http://lost-theories.com/theories/2008/apr/27/its-all-big-game/
good theory but I think it’s Widmore not Windmore.
you’re right, from now on I’ll write it the way it’s supposed to be written.
I really hope Ben’s an alien or a super human freak
