I think we can pretty much agree that ben didnt just end up in the sahara by travelling there any way we could. That being said, he woke up not sure of where he was, because he got somehow “warped” there. ON to the point, the way he was just laying down on the ground kind of reminded me how jack just woke up laying on the ground in the pilot episode. This leads me to believe that maybe jack used the so called “time warp” station, probly orchid, that Ben used in order to go back in time to change everything with the losties. I say its a time warp, because ben asks for clarification of what year it is.

Now I feel Jack has ended up using it to go back in time. The problem he had, was going back in time forces you to forget anything that happens to you in the future. Remember how Desmond woke up in the past and totally forgot everything in the future in The Constant. Well this is the case with Jack, he went back in time, and is reliving the island experience. Notice the strange de ja vu feelings jack has, and the strange comments like “I cant let this happen again.” This is because his memory is somewhat triggered by fimiliar events. So the key to my theory lies right in this season, The Orchid, is the main property of the island that changes the universal outcome.

THis makes no sense…………….unless Jack survived the first crash……..stuff happens………………..and then goes back in time to do it again……………….Jack must and only must, survive the first crash he experiences.

    Close… but no cigar.

I think Jack mindshifts back to the pilot episode and we saw him coming back to his senses. He forgets the details but retains the deja vu of the experience.
