OK, this is short but sweet. I am using info from interviews given by CC and DL, so if you consider that kind of info spoiler worthy, stop now. Also, this might be really obvious, but my friends didn’t pick up on it so here it goes.
I believe that the Temple is the Orchid station. Obviously, we are used to the fact of names not exactly describing the actual site(Black Rock for example). In interviews, DL and CC say the Orchid will play a role in the last few episodes. I assume that Ben told them the Temple isn’t meant for them (Sawyer ect.) when he was talking to Alex. Maybe it isn’t meant for them because of the technology inside, as seen in the Orchid video. I don’t have any more than that besides a feeling that Ben will meet up with the others, and I just don’t see them introducing us to two new places, so I think they are the same. Again, hope this isn’t obvious (assuming its right at all, I haven’t checked to see if on the map they are listed as seperate places). Let me know what you think!

I don’t believe The Orchid and The Temple are the same place. I would like to know why people think The Temple and The Orchid are the same place. What gives you the idea?
I think we saw the orchid last night. Ben built his house around it .
I don’t know… we’ve seen statues, ruins, and heiroglyphics…. I can totally buy the temple being some ancient fortress or something at this point.
The Orchid being built around ben’s house is neat, but I believe the theory someone posted about Ben just opening the cerebus vent. They have the fence to protect them, but there is the one vent (and vent controller) inside the parameter, so Ben builds his house around it.
Again, my main reason for thinking they are the same is mostly just structure of the show. They introduced us to the Orchid station at Comic Con, though no one ever talks about it. They intro us to the Temple, close to the end of season 4. We know the Orchid plays huge in the last episode(s). So, It makes sense that they are the same (also, I think the reason Alex doesn’t know about the Temple is because of the powerful technology and capability of whats inside, ala the Orchid’s capabilities).

I don’t see the point. The casual viewer doesn’t know anything about The Orchid. If they’d called ‘the temple’ the Orchid way back in Season 3 people would have still been none-the-wiser.
Besides, The Temple was denoted by a Dharma logo on the map - and it’s a different logo to the Dharma Logo on Ben/Halliwax’s jacket. Ergo, they are not one and the same (assuming the logo on the jacket is The Orchid - which I do).
And given Ben’s appearance in the Sahara, it’s clear that The Orchid is playing a key role in the closing stages of this season.
For the Casual viewer, they talk about the Temple, then they finally go and discover it is actually another station (Orchid). For all of us in the know, it is the same kind of revelation. Think of the Black Rock revelation, its not pointless, it is just misleading.
And yes, the Temple was denoted by a Dharma logo, and the Temple was too! And i don’t remember Halwax having a logo during the orchid video, and the screen caps I found don’t show one (unless it is really low on the breast,covered by the rabbit) Any1 have a link to this emblem if it exist?
And yes, it is playing a role, but it is obvious we will be INSIDE the Orchid by the end of the season, Ben teleporting now is just setting us up. I bet Jacob tells him to take Locke to the Temple!
