alright i think besides finding out that jack was in the future, through the looking glass also gave us one of lost’s biggest questions… who is in the coffin. now i don’t have a friggin clue, but i’d like to make a line up of possible supects. this is more of a discussion rather then me saying who i think is in it. it’s my list of possibles (in no order)…

1. jack–> with the whole time travel thing what if it’s jack in the coffin? but this idea is to massive for me to get my head around and actually makes my right eye hurt when i try and think about it.

2. sayid–> he’s the island’s version of jack bauer now, and while he is very kick ass what if working for ben gets him killed. although it’s unlikely that his body would be in la.

3. hurley–> no offense but the coffin isn’t big enough

4. ben–> this one interests me. what if ben fakes his own death so attacking the bad guys can be made eaiser for him? if they think he’s out of the equation then it might make life better for him and sayid. but if ben was faking his death wouldn’t some of his enemies be there to confirm that it’s him in the coffin?

5. claire–> now i like this theory a lot but there are waaaaaay to many holes. kate wouldn’t go because she has claire’s child which explains here convo with jack at the end. but jack says he’s neither friend or family which would make it seem jack might not know that him and claire share a father (unlikely since i think jack want visit kate because of the guilt he has of betraying his sister). and then the largest hole…what’s claire’s body doing in la? wouldn’t she go back home? and hurley would’ve been there (ex. goes to see sun’s baby) unless he’s detained in a hospital. i think claire would be heavy but unlikely

6. juliet–> but if this was true then who really cares? it would be a major let down but would make sense.

7. sawyer–> now again this one would be interesting. jack goes in hopes to meeting kate there. kate and sawyer have some kind of falling out so she no shows and jacks left with memories of regret and betrayal… but questions to ask. how does sawyer get off the island? why is he dead? while possible there are still a lot of holes left to be filled.

8. locke–> now this is my pick. it would be heavy and would really shake the foundation of the show. jack goes there to witness the death of fate. everything he stands against would be in the coffin (why he doesn’t want it open doesn’t want to face it) along with all the memories of what occured on the island. locke has no family and was a loner back home so it makes sense no one would be there. kate’s got no love for locke which is why she doesn’t go. the major question here is what would force john to leave the island? some how john locke needs to be FORCED off the island to make this happen and i’m not sure how that can happen…

9. michael–> obvious choice… black neighbor hood, no one knows he’s home, no one is really a big fan of his. but it doesn’t explain while walt isn’t there or his mother. and michael was living on the east coast in new york… while it may seem like a sexy choice i think it’s there to distract from the real choice (whatever that maybe).

10. walt–> alright now this one would be amazing. michael isn’t there because he’s either dead or still on the boat in the middle of the ocean. michael’s mother isn’t there because she died of being old. jack and michael were always pretty close (up until the betrayal) so maybe he goes to see michael’s kid out of respect and doesn’t want the coffin open cause he doesn’t want to see a dead walt. kate doesn’t go because she still holds a grudge. but again what is walt doing in la? who put up the funeral? what or who killed the boy with the mind powers? lots and lots of questions

so that’s it for now. just thought with the coffin question getting answered soonish that it would be fun to discuss the possibles. enjoy
