Naomi and Ben
Why is it that in season 3 naomi seemed to not care about Ben when she saw him. He stands there and says “hi im ben, i dont think we have met.” Yet naomi jus stands there like its nothing. Yet miles said that is why they are there. to get ben.

Because Naomi was not in any kind of position to ‘get Ben’ at that moment. She needed to regain communications with her people on The Freighter and get them on the Island to forge an extraction team.
(That is, of course, provided the Freighter People’s stated goal of getting Ben is entirely truthful in the first place!)
Another question is why Mikhail even bothered to save Naomi. If Ben had Michael on the boat, why bother keeping Naomi around. Wouldn’t he had wanted one less Freighterite around?
Kevicho - I agree with AC. This is exactly how Charlotte behaved when she was in Ben’s company.
Treesneakers - possible reasons: (i) Ben may not have wanted to tell Mikhail or any of the Others about the boat; (ii) Michael may not have given Ben the informaion yet (Mikhail was being captured by Sayid/Kate/Rousseau about the time Ben asked Michael for info and encountered Naomi before getting back to Ben) (iii) Ben may well be in league with some of the task-force section of the Freighties (e.g. he had a plan with Miles); (iv) Ben thought he could deal with Naomi himself later on.

good points. maybe it’s because when Ben first met Naomi, the writer’s didn’t know where the show was going.
From what i remember, doesnt Mikhail learn of the sattelite phone before he agrees to help her? In essence he doesnt realyl care if they kill him (though i think he knows they wont) but by distracting them by helping naomi he opens up a way of stealing the phone, which he would bring back to ben, no phone = no contact with boat = dead naomi just as good as no contact naomi.
Also, I think Naomi’s mission and the “science group” group are completely different. Naomi’s mission was, to get the frieghter people to the island (in order to kill them etc etc). The “science groups” mission was do to whatever they wanted, (experiments etc) as long as they made friends with the losties, in order to find ben, and relay where he was, and what the situation was like. In a way I dont think Ben is the frieghter people’s real mission anyway.
