Hi, Dom, welcome aboard! Do you really have interest in the series in terms of having theories or has being part of it (a big part!) taken away from the mystery/illusion? Also, I know you were kept in the dark as actors but surely sometimes you were given a bit more background than us so you were able to get into character? It would be fun to hear your theories on Charlie (though I’m guessing you know more than us about whether he appears again!

Not to be really sarcastic or sceptical (I am british after all), but are you really Dominic Monaghan? I suppose there is no real way to prove otherwise, except maybe a home pic of yourself on your profile?

Ha ha yeah i am interested in theories about the show,about what the hell is going on! The main mystery of the show is where is the island? If we can find that out i think the rest will fall into place. Whilst acting on the show i was never really aware of much more than my own scenes, the background of Charlie was explained well before i filmed his flashback scenes so i could try to play Charlie knowing this information. I would watch the episodes in full at Josh Holloway’s place with the rest of the cast and it always felt as if i was a fan watching my favourite show! As for Charlies return all i can say to you is i was bound by a legal agreement not to discuss the show or join any fan sites. I am now allowed to join fansites or forums about the show as that agreement has expired fully including the extended time after i left. It is the same for any actor on the show they can only give interviews that are agreed to and they cannot join sites such as these.

The other main question i feel is about the Aaron i think there is a twist to the tale here somewhere to do with Kate, I cant quite think why but i think we will find out by the end of this season why Kate was the one to get custody of him PEACE .

Also i am in the UK at the moment just realised that it must be early am for all of you in the US its 1335 here

There is one question that I NEED answered. From the very first show this questioned has been on my mind. In fact, I find myself obsessed with knowing the answer. I think about it constantly!

I think most of us online so far today are British, cos of the timezone, so we’re all aware of the weather. Can’t Evangeline disclose info you might need to know about Season 4 scripts or is she forbidden pillow-talk in her contract?!

I think the black smoke is Jacob, i think that this is how Jacob appears outside of his cabin. The ring around his cabin pinpoints his “SAFE AREA” the area he can safely move in before been reduced to smoke again. I think some kind of forcefield keeps his solid shape in the cabin area possibly due to the electromagnetism just my opinion! I also think Jacob is a desendant of the black rock crew somehow kept alive by the island however as he aged he was reduced to the smoke only able to manifest in the one area

Will be cheering for good old England of course in 2010 hope to get to some gamesif possible ha ha

Hello Sir. I’m just gonna go ahead and trust it really is you and hope for the best. I have some questions myself:

I’ve heard whispers of this and was wondering did you ask the writers to write you out so you could leave Lost because it was holding you back from doing other projects being stuck in Hawaii the entire time? Or was it just to bring finality to Desmond’s visions, another rumor I’ve heard about the matter?

How do you feel about The Orchid? Do you think it’s going to be a turning point in the series or is just one of the bread crumbs the producers have thrown off the trail to deter the scent of the audience?

Being a guitarist/bassist, is there a tab out there somewhere for ‘You All Everybody’? haha

Who was your favorite character besides yourself? And who is your favorite Freightie?

Do you think (like I do) that everyone should get off Michael’s case and realize that Sayid is the real a-hole for giving him up?

That’s all. But I’d just like to say that I’m rooting for France in ‘10 and am really pulling for a Zidane-return so he can headbutt someone in the chest again. =] Thanks.

Hey Dmon, please explain something to me. Ever since I watched “Greatest Hits” there’s something that’s been bothering me. Charlie volunteers to go to The Looking Glass, and he says he was junior swimming champion, or something like that….but in “White Rabbit” (episode 5, first season) he clearly says to Jack: “I can’t swim”. Now……did the writers mess up? was charlie just lying back in season one? was he really unable to swim, maybe because of fear? Please give me an answer, I would very much appreciate it.

drjack, I’m obviously not DMon, but I thought I’d offer some insight to your question, as I was thinking the same thing not long ago.

I’m almost positive that Charlie tells Jack “I don’t swim,” as opposed to “I can’t swim.”

Of course he’s not the real Dominic Monahan. I’ve secretly been Evangeline Lilly all this time, and i happen to know the real Dominic was indisposed all morning due to that dinner I made last night, and there are no computers or other electronic communication devices in that bathroom. Perhaps he could recite the note I wrote him on that roll of toilet paper I grenaded in there to him, and the romantic song he wrote from it while in there, IF he’s the real Dom.

and i have a question. will charlie ever return to lost, even just for one more episode or even just one more scene? i miss charlie.

Here’s a question about the Through the Looking Glass episode. Why does Charlie close the door to the room he is in before Mikhail sets off the grenade? Was it to fulfill Desmond’s prophesy of his death? Was it to protect the rest of the station from the explosion?

I ask because it seems that had he not closed the door, he would have still been able to escape with Desmond even with the explosion and all the water pouring in.

Also, much has been made of Charlie crossing himself backwards. Any theories?

So are you done from the show for good Dom? Or would you maybe pop up in the future?

Can i just ask why there is so much hostility on here? Have you had a bad experience in the past and what is a “troll”?

Ozzig i am not to sure why you made those comments regarding me pretending to be myself! I dont understand that but all i can say is it is me!

It was my opinion that Charlie allowed the door to close because he believed if he survived that the vision of Claire been rescued would never happen and he cared deeply for her and Aaron As for Charlie crossing himself backwards that was simply the way i acted the scene i was not asked to do this in particular it just came naturally As for Charlie returning i am allowed to tell you that…he certainly is not in season 4 (unless they cast another actor and didnt tell me!) But after that i dont even think the writers know that!

My favourite charater apart from Charlie is Ben! I find him interesting and i just know that he will always surprise us and come up with more secrets. I love Hurley also and me and Gorge are good friends off screen ASfor Michael well i just dont know what to make of him at the moment during the filming of seasom 3 there was so much talk among the cast about the possibility of Harold returning and when he finally did i missed him! Saiyd is a mystery still to me he is such a complex character there are several scenes that were cut out of dialogue between Charlie and Saiyd that showed how much he regretted his torture days and how he felt that he was losing control of his actions,not earth moving stuff but it set the scene possibly for why Saiyd works for Ben

My fave freighter charater is Miles i enjoy the supernatuaral element to the show and Miles brings that,he will be a key part of the finale and i think all will be revealed as to why he was on the freighter.

As for the situation surrounding my departure from the show,I have said it in interviews before there was a mixture of both me wanting to focus on other projects and the direction of the show meant that Charlies character had in a sense done his part. I dont feel as though there was much more that could have come form his charater and it is better to go out on a high and be remembered like that. I have got several projects at the moment and while i loved my time on lost when the writers put the storyline to me i felt it was right.

cornholiogringo i will be honest and say that i will not be appearing in season 4 but have not been asked to appear in season 5 as of yet,who knows though what the writers have up their sleeve!

I personally can only see Charlie cropping up in a Hurley episode maybe during his time in the mental institute but who knows thats speculation!

Yeah i stay in conatct with the majority of the cast Evangeline obviously and Josh Holloway is a friend, when i was still on the show every episode that was completed we would all get together and watch at Josh Holloways (usually) we were like a little family and i do miss them but i wont lose touch

i am not sure whether or not to believe you (i know i said i did before, but i had a rethink). its just that if you were the real Dominic Monaghan, would you really feel the need to introduce yourself so publically? surely, you (he) would want to remain anonymous so you dont get hounded by fans?

its just that we have had some person here recently who was being really offensive and in one post he pretended to be the site moderater. i don’t think it would be much of a stretch for him to come back and pretend to be an actor on lost.

hahaha This is like the watch scam and works like this_ You got the main scam guy with all these $10,000 watches and he’s going to sell you one for only $500 bucks! Then he’s got his phony customers buying watches like crazy in front of you but they’re part of the scam too. Till finally some moron thinks wow I’d better get in on that deal and forks over $500 bucks for a $10 fake watch.

That’s not Dominic and some of those fans up there are just helping him set up the scam, waiting for the morons to show. He doesn’t need to throw in any porn links or attack anyone because his game is making fools of everyone.

Seriously, I think if this had been the real Dominic Monaghan he could have expected disbelief, especially if he read any of the previous goings on, and posted a photo as suggested. I interpreted this as a good leg-puller and reacted in kind, I like to pull a leg or 2 myself once in a while.

Yeah- it was funny…and I think much needed after all of the obnoxious, awful things that have been goin on here for a while.
