Someone noticed recently that when an emergency happens on the freighter, alarms sound just like at the Swan Station when the numbers need to be entered. Does this mean the freighter is a similar to a Dharma station?
Perhaps someone (the people behind Dharma, Hanso?) found out about “the purge” (and the fact that the Others are posing as Dharma workers) and has come back to straighten things out?

yeh could be and that is why ben didn’t want jack to contact them
It’s been presumed by many that Widmore and/or Mr. Paik have been, and possibly still are, involved in the creation and caretaking of the island because of their ties to Hanso. It wouldn’t be a leap to presume that, if the boat is truly sent by Widmore, it is therefore related to Dharma and/or Hanso by proxy.
On the other hand, I’m pretty sure the sound effect is intentionally used here because it’s familiar and inmistakable to the viewer. Assuming it is somehow Dharma related would imply that Desmond and Penny’s microwave is also Dharma related because it makes the same beeping noise as the countdown in the Swan Station.
I’ve thought for a while that they are Dharma. That Widmore is working with Hanso to find the island and reclaim his project. The producers have said that we haven’t seen the last of Dharma. This would explain why the freighter and Ben hate each other so much, being that Ben kinda killed their buddies.
Just because the Freighter’s security alarm sounds like that of in the Dharma stations does not mean that it’s in any way related to the Dharma Initiative. o_O
Been thinking the same thing all along!+1
Dharma = idealistic, utopian community of scientists working for the betterment of mankind.
Widmore and Paik Industries = multinational corporations that only seek to raise profits and stock prices, use mafia-like strong arm tactics to ensure good business dealings, and hire mercenaries like Keamy and Omar
I really don’t see the connection.
