Apologies to those of you who are sick to death of ‘that’ coffin. Apologies if this appears twice, I got a ‘bad gateway’ message the first time I posted it. Apologies too if this has been said before and is ancient news.
Some of you are interested in the contents of the coffin. This is not a theory, just mildly interesting!
Right, that’s my ‘frame of apologies’ out the way, now for the post itself!
I have just watched a YouTube video which reports to be a deleted scene from the finale of season 3. It shows what appears to be an alternative version of the funeral parlour scene. We see Jack looking inside the coffin and we see his point of view: who is in the coffin!
Before you get excited, I think one or more of the following conclusions are possible:
1) This is the definitive person in the coffin but the shot was deleted and the scene changed to Jack not looking inside in order to with-hold information from us for suspense purposes. 2) Or they changed their minds about who is in there after filming this shot and therefore deleted it 3) Or they filmed several different characters in the coffin in order to keep possibilities of who’s in there open and this is just one surviving clipping from the cutting room floor 4) Or this contributor to YouTube has somehow faked this shot of inside the coffin to fool us Lost addicts 5) Or there will be another coffin in the future that Jack will visit and look inside this time but this scene was deleted and is being with-held until later.
Personally, I think no.3 is the most likely of these options, followed by no. 1. If no. 1 is correct, it is wholly interesting from our point of view!
I won’t give away who was in the coffin in this deleted scene for those of you who don’t like spoilers but if any of you are desperate to view this video I will give the link then it’s your choice. As I have said, the existence of this deleted scene doesn’t necessarily mean very much anyway, but I thought I’d mention it in case people are interested in any information they can get their hands on, even if it turns out to be false.

Sorry that vid is a fake. Apart from the fact that from the flash forward we know the person from that vid is alive and knows about the funeral, the music cuts out when we see the coffin shot. nice try though.
I admit I watched it with the sound down so I didn’t notice the music cutting out. Other than that, then, it’s a good fake!
Also the producers have said that at first they never intended to keep it a mystery. Then they decided it was a good suspense device so they left the person inside unknown
just watched it. i think it is fake. imo, the person in the coffin doesnt even look remotely like who it is supposed to be.

It is a fake. Not only does the music stop abruptly when showing Kate inside the coffin, but the network logo disappears and the aspect ratio of the still image does not match that of the LOST footage. If I recall the correctly it’s an image from Evangeline Lilly’s role in The Long Weekend in which she portrays a dead celebrity.
Personally I’m leaning towards Sayid as coffin guy.
I believe it’s Claire in the coffin…think about it…it’s quite clear… 1. Kate has Aaron…there is no way Claire would give up Aaron if she wasn’t dead… 2. Jack WOULD be the only one to go to her funeral…Sayid is off killing people for Ben, Hurley is in the loonybin, Kate is on trial and Sun is having her baby… 3. Jack would be most upset and affected by this for reasons we all know by now… 4. Both her parents are dead, no siblings other than…Jack… This also answers the true Oceanic 6 people…Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hurley, Sun and…Claire…not Aaron…because Aaron is known as Kate’s son…not as an Ocenic 6 survivor…not to mention Desmond’s vision of Aaron and Claire being rescued… My question now is…how did Claire die? Do the effects of the island kill the mothers if they leave? Because if it is indeed her in the coffin(I so believe it is, just makes sense) then she died off the island… How can Claire die off the island when Michael couldn’t…??? Did those injections that Ethan gave her have a reverse effect…??? Oy…we will be lost forever….aha…

thank goodness I am not a client in your therapy room! the fact you were more or less taken in by this obviously fake video speaks volumes for your professional analysis abiities!
but hang on!…….’your therapy room’…..there was me assuming you were a psychotherpaist or the like, but having read your theories, and this nonsense in particular, it is obvious to me you are obviously one of the patients. How do they give you web access? is that not a risk to the public?
I pray to almighty God that you are NOT a staff member in this ‘therapy room’ and that you have no powers to influence the lives of others via medication or otherwise, because your judgement in this simple childishly-easy-to-spot-the-fake situation, is reprehensible to say the least.
