After watching Ji Yeon again, I noticed something that only jumped out after I had watched the first 3 seasons yet again, this week. If other people have written about this, I apologize, since I can’t imagine I’m the only one who noticed this. So………..here goes.
When Sun was giving birth, she thought she saw Jin, but it was just a doctor in the doorway. I didn’t think anything of this until today. I watched the first 3 seasons over the past 4 days (yes, I’m sick), and I recognized the doctor. He was one of the people on the island. Yes, a background character who we all just assumed was one of the non important survivors. I find it hard to believe the creators of the show didn’t notice they used the same actor, so there has to be a reason for this.
EDIT EDIT EDIT** sorry it took me so long, but I spent the last half day trying to find any actor credits that could corroborate my claim. I have just found a Youtube “Lost” type recap that says the same thing I said. I would also like to see a screencap, or at least the episode where you saw the doctor on the island.
or at least an episode a with and approx. time he shows up would work too.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m assume you mean Dr. Bae played by Larry Joon.
And I’ll also assume you mean to compare him to Steve Tanizaki who is an extra and stand in for Daniel Dae Kim the actor who plays Jin.
Their similarity, both in apparent ethinicity and general appearance, was pointed out on darkufo and is the subject of some speculation. Confusion arises because he is both an extra who portrays one of the survivors of flight 815 and a stand-in for Jin when Daniel Dae Kim is unavailable and/or cannot be on set. His appearances on camera appear to have been continuity errors that were not caught by the crew.
If this is not what you meant, then my apologies.
thanks for the info Billy, but I don’t think that’s the same thing I’m talking about. I went to imdb and clicked on the second page of characters for the episode, and when I did, I couldn’t find the guy I’m talking about. There were two guys listed as “Doctors” in the episode, but neither was the guy I’m talking about. Thanks for the comment, though, as I didn’t know about that.
