See you in another life brother

— Meef

Theory 1. The numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42 All these numbers add up to 108 - The clock in the Swan Hatch always goes back to 108 minutes after the code is executed. Therefore, IMO continuously reversing time 108 minutes…AFTER the 108 minutes has ended, basically… keeping time on the Island at a standstill.

At the end of season 2, the Dharma Swan Hatch becomes inoperable, nobody is there to push the button, nobody is there to reverse time.

If you look at the numbers in this view 04:08:15:16:23:42 ..Translation… April, 8th, 2015 at 16:23:42PM - Could this date be Doomsday? The day where everyone on the Island, or perhaps the rest of the Earths population will die? Possibly…because time is no longer at a standstill.. this date is getting closer and closer, this could be why Jack wants to go back to the Island in his flash-forwards at the end of Season3, to try and stop this from happening.

Theory 2. The Black Smoke or the “Monster” that inhabits the Island could be a Spiritual Nexus. This is a force of powerful energy which is concentrated in one place (The Island). It can be swayed from the side of Good or Evil, depending on how much Good or Evil is within it’s presence. eg, The Nexus did not kill Locke in Season1 because Locke is a good person and did not sin before coming onto the Island, in fact he did a good thing and gave away a kidney, therefore the Nexus did not turn evil around him. However, the Nexus or Black Smoke killed Mr. Echo. In Echo’s back story we see him as a Nigerian Gangster committing murder and drug trafficking, therefore the Nexus is evil around him and ultimately takes his life.

Theory 3. It could be possible that the entire Island is actually set in the future, this could explain the Polar Bears inhabitance. Due to Global Warming the Polar Bears could possibly adapt to live in a warm climate. This would also explain why Locke and Rose have magically been healed since crashing onto the Island…maybe they’re far ahead of the time they are supposed to die, therefore skipping death and moving through onto “New Life”. This theory would also explain the giant four-toed statue which Sayid, Sun and Jin sailed passed… in the future, humans will evolve to have four fingers and toes because we do not need to have five.

Theory 4. An obvious theory… Limbo or Purgatory. The Losties could all actually be in a coma, trapped between life and death, this would explain why Jack saw his Father in Season1, Christian Shepard had unfinished business and couldn’t move on until Sawyer delivered his message to Christians son, Jack. Hence the reason Christians coffin was empty when Jack found it in the Caves, because no physical life lives on the Island…only spiritual beings. This would also explain the crashed Nigerian plane, and the sighting of Echos brother.

Theory 5. (This theory links with Theory 1) Compass Bearings and Codes. At the end of Season2, Ben tells Michael to follow a compass bearing of 3-2-5 where he will find rescue. I believe this compass bearing is the only path off the Island which will take them back to the correct time on Planet Earth. We learn in Season4 that Michael does get back to L.A. Also, Miles asked Ben for $3,200,000 –> 3-2-5 zeros. I believe this is code between Miles and Ben, Miles’ way of telling Ben that the crew on the Freighter know about the time travel, and they know what compass bearings to follow in order to get to, and from the Island.

everyone keeps thinking it resets every 180 minutes, if that was the case, then why does night happen, and day come around as normal. im sorry but i just cant believe that time is not moving and when they saw the date on the freiter it made sense it was christmas 2004

hmm… I kind of liked theory 1…but as cornholio mentioned it does not explain day and night, but i still think there might be something there.

    Theory 4 has been debunked.

Theory 5 was interesting, but i think you might be looking into things to much…of course looking into this show as much as possible will usually reveal something.

Good enough post to have me comment on it, but not good enough to get a +1, also not worthy of a -1

Meef - most of this “theory” is debunked and obsolete. Any info that has the possiblilty of being part of a good theory has been plagerized! I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
