I am not sure if this has been noted before, i searched and didn’t see this addressed. If it has been i apologize. This is my first time posting and I have lots of theories, similar to many on this site. Above all questions something is bothering me…When Naomi lands on the island her Helicopter crashed in the ocean. This was fine until in Meet Kevin Johnson when you see the freighter before it leaves for the island and they have only ONE helicopter.
They made a point to have a scene where Naomi and Lapidus were arguing over who was going out in the heli first and she eventually took it out first. So if we see they only have one helicopter when they leave and she crashed the helicopter when she first came to the island, WHERE did the second copter come from?!?!?!? In “meet kevin Johnson” the one copter they had on board is the one the the freighter folk showed up in 4th season.
If anyone has any ideas about how this could be possible, did I miss something?? Im just curious as to where it could have come from, and if there isn’t any rational explanation like i just missed that they had two, its either the idea of the island creating duplicates of things when passing thru the island (which i don’t really believe) or Ben is actually working with the freighter people and it’s his helicopter. Either way I would like to know if anyone on here knows something about the mysterious dual helicopters.

I just noticed in multiple episodes (4.5, 4.7, 4.8) where showing the boat deck, there is a metal shipping container and a large crane poised over top of it. I can’t believe I hadn’t thought enough of the container or the crane before to think a single person helicopter could be inside. The problem still persists that Naomi and Frank were arguing over who was taking out the Helicopter first. Charlotte and Daniel were not shown on the freighter and they could have flown there, but Abaddon showed Naomi the whole team, so if they arrived on a copter later, wouldn’t naomi and frank know this and not argue? Frank also notes in 4.2 that Faraday “does this kind of stuff all the time on the boat” so from fiji how many days were they on the freighter, they were tucked away or just not important so not shown on the boat. I am now banking on a single person copter in the shipping container under the crane.

It’s possible that the second helicopter landed on the freighter after the freighter left port.
I think that it is possible that another chopper flew out and landed with Daniel and Charlotte aboard before Naomi had left for the Island. We never see either one of these characters in episode 8, but they made a point to show Miles and Frank as well as Naomi. I know a lot of people say there isn’t enough room on the boat deck, but there are 2 helicopter landing pads, and I know little or nothing about helicopters, but are all helicopters the same size? There could be two different sized choppers couldn’t there?

No my mistake for not giving you credit, ur comment inspired my update, you noted “are all helicopters the same size?” That made me think, could there be a tiny copter hidden aboard???? And it seems that is quite possible, thanks for the Idea.

Personally I think Naomi was lying that she crashed, we never saw it. Frank could have flown her in and then flew back to the freighter.
The only thing is you hear the chopper in that episode when the guys were camping on the beach and it sounds like it is stalling out. Hurley even said something to the effect of “Dudes should a helicopter sound like that?” Then they hear it crash in the water and Hurley starts arguing with Charlie that they need to go out there to where it crashed. So either it crashed or Frank dropped something really heavy and large in the water from the helicopter before he flew back.
I agree with Sandamtodd, You hear the engine dying, you hear it crash in the water, add that to Naomi and Frank arguing over who is taking the copter first. I still am doubting that Charlotte and Daniel flew there later, that is something that goes against the team being created, my update about the Container on the ship and the crane is where i am assuming the other helicopter is. Either way i don’t think the crash was faked, or that the second copter comes later, it has to be in the container on the deck.
