and you used it to recruit me.

I was watching Economist, last scene, and it suddenly stroke me, that’s it! Ben killed Nadia, told Sayyid it’s “economist”, and “used it to recruit me”.
Ben: Remember what happened last time when ….with your heart? Sayyid: I know, and you used it to recruit me.
I cannot think of anything else.

sorry mate, go through that again… whats what?
I don’t think he killed nadia, if ben killed nadia then sayid would kill ben not work for him. I think ben’s talking about when Sayid turned michael over to the freighter captain and that in turn will result in massive deaths on the island. Sayid hates michael, and wasn’t thinking with his head so he just shoved michael into the captains office and turned him in only remembering what Michael did to Libby and Ana Lucia. So he was thinking with his heart and not his head, and result was sending a bunch a killers to the island and killing the losties
sayid sure has a knack for choosing employers. first saddam then ben. who’s next? satan himself?
sorry, I don’t really get how you get to the conclusion. I would think if Ben killed Nadia and Sayid found out about it he would kill Ben. Or are you saying Ben killed Nadia and Sayid didn’t know he did it?
lockeko I think he’s implying that Ben killed Nadia and Sayid believes Ben when he blames her death on the Economist. The problem here is that there’s absolutely nothing to support this idea. It could be true but based on what we’ve been shown there’s nothing to indicate any of this. It’s an example of a effect without a cause. Although I do give credit for taking Ben to an entirely new level of evil! +1 just for finding a way to make him even more sinister!
Read again what I wrote:
“Ben killed Nadia, told Sayyid it’s “economist”, and “used it to recruit me”.”
Of course, Sayyid does not know that it’s Ben. Come on people…
sorry? i don’t understand at all, maybe edit it? you seem to be missing/have forgotten a lot of the dialogue and got other parts from that scene wrong.
it’s okay, we’ll assume you’re drunk.
RS, You nailed it right on the money!! I don’t know why that wasn’t picked up. Good eye! +1
Makes perfect sense! That is why Ben made that statement to Sayid!
I have to disagree with everyone on this….I think you may be on to something!! +1 & thank you for helping me regain my faith that there is a GOOD reason Sayid might be working for Ben.
ok, i’m with ya, I just didn’t understand it at first. I apologize.
well i definately think that nadia is dead, and that it was at her funeral that ben recruited sayid - when he was vulnerable. but i’m not entirely convinced that ben killed her. then again, i wouldn’t put it past him! its just that in ‘meet kevin johnson’ he says he would never kill an innocent victim to get what he wants/win the fight, and for some crazy reason i actually believe him! lol. +1
