ok. so in exodus part one, 31:30, walt and shannon are having a conversation. walt tells shannon to take vincent and that hell take care of him and that vincent took care of walt when his mom died. no one else would talk to him and he’s a good listner
just puttin it out there that maybe its not walt whos all magical, but its vincent

Seltzer, I don’t know if you’re familiar with the mobisodes that were produced during the break between Season 3 and 4. (They were basically very short films, filling in gaps of backstory from the show. You can find them on youtube to watch, and read about them on lostpedia.)
I only bring this up because one of the mobisodes concerned the time when Walt was in captivity by The Others, in Room 23. We don’t see it, but we know Walt is responsible for a large collection of dead birds that has impossibly occurred outside the room he is in. The reason I mention this is, when this incident occurred, Vincent was nowhere around. Therefore we have an instance of a ‘magic’ feat from Walt where Vincent was not present, therefore it must really be assumed to have been Walt that did it.
As AngeloComet pointed out, Walt is quite special. It’s implied in Michael’s flashback, infered from Bea Klugh’s dialogue, and specifially referenced in the “Missing Pieces” mini-episodes available on ABC’s webstie at:
