When they showed a rabbit with a number painted on it, I thought it struck a chord with me, but I couldn’t remember how.
Years ago I read Stephen King’s book “On Writing”. I just started re-reading it and I came upon an interesting find. I it he explains that writing is like telepathy. Everybody tries to prove telepathy exists, but no one ever can. He states that telepathy exists, through writing. To keep it brief, every time a writer explains a situation or scene in a book, he/she is indeed using telepathy. The reader visualizes what is written, and therefore creates the scene from the writers mind. All of this comes together, when he asks the reader to visualize a room with a table that has a tablecloth on it. On the tablecloth sits a White RABBIT, with a number painted on it’s back. I think that the writers used this analogy to bring telepathy into the story.
great catch
Thats quite interesting sets me thinking of ‘imagine a box……’
+1 boxmaker, very interesting!
Thanks
non verbal communication, never thought of it like that before +1
But why were there 2 rabbits with the same number painted on them? Don’t the rabbits have more to do with bi-location, cloning, time-travel mysteries than anything else? (for those of you not familiar with what I’m talking about see the Orchid Station video)
DC, I think you are right on the surface, but that boxmaker has found why the writers chose the rabit with a number painted on it. that’s why it’s such a great observation
Good catch but already pointed out a very long time ago on http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Rabbit
ok…i have seen every episode, but I have no idea what rabbits yall are talking about…….
Great concept boxy!+1
about halfway through the pilot episode, Jack finds a locked suitcase with two rabbits inside. one is black and one is white, they both have the number 15 painted on their sides.
PortRoyalWenk what they are talking about is the orchid station orentation video on the season 3 dvd.
the poster posting as blondegop_, is a fake.
Box, The creative process is indeed a form of telepathy! Thanks for bringing it up. +1
Not everyone reads other sites for information, especially if they are busy people, BillyGoat.
