LOST-Theories.com

This theory, I suspected a while ago and I thought about a lot, and thanks to Joe’s spoiler I can acually tie some things together.

A while ago I was reviewing the 1st season of Lost “Deus Ex Machina” and I came across a scene that if watching for the first time would have been passed without much thought. It was a flashback for Locke, and he was sitting and having coffee with his biological mother. She said that he was special and was part of a design. Design. Hold that word for a second. In Joe’s spoiler (thanks again Joe) It was described as a scene in the 50’s, with Richard and a woman who was Emily Locke. The nurses said that they were going to bring in a baby soon.

Back to design. Locke would have been born around the 50's and they said they were going to bring in a baby. I remember Juliet using the word design more than once in her fertility research. Since Richard was with the hostiles then he must have known about the fertility problem and if Emily Locke had something to do with that then that means that Locke may have been concieved or born on the island.

I think he was born or concieved on island and that makes Emily Locke's comment on him being specail true. Also Ben probaley doesn't know or is pretending not to know because he said " I don't know how it happened john but you have some sort of communion with this island". Another clue is that Emily said that John was immaculately concieved, But John's father matched his DNA. So does that mean that Lockes father had been on the island too?

I think that this is my best theory yet and I want everyone to consider it.

    considered–not bad

i posted this comment on one of the duplicates so i will repost it here.

i read that spoiler too, sounds like it will be a great episode!

however, i think that the reason she said he was “special” and “immaculately conceived” was explained in the episode? because lockes dad wanted her to say that so the whole cooper-locke meeting thing would be lockes idea, and therefore he would be more likely to give him a kidney.

having said that, now that we know that locke definately does have a connection to the island, and we have the richard and possibly baby locke spoiler, it sounds like there might be more to those lines than we originally thought. maybe it wasnt just part of the con, but emily locke was trying to slip locke some subtle hint.

anyway, +1.its plausible, but i am not sure about cooper having been on the island before though, since he described it as “hell” when we saw him on the island.

I’m not a medical professional, but just because John’s kidney matched cooper’s, do they absolutely have to be related?

  4. belle13 Apr 3, 2008 5:35 p.m. Comment: 4

i’m not sure, but i would say that it does mean they are really related, although i hope they aren’t cos i cant imagine someone being that horrible to their own flesh and blood. but also, locke traced him and the DNA results said they were related.

it would be really cool if jacob was lockes dad!

I ask because I know a lot of organs can be transplanted from non-relatives, hearts, livers, etc, and I wonder if kidneys would be the same. Bone marrow on the other hand basically requires a relative.

I just rewatched that episode…Locke’s father told him that while his mother was pregnant she disappeared with no explanation, then came back and told him she had given the baby up for adoption (he was never adopted but bounced around in foster care). Also, his private investigator found that she had been institutionalized more than once for some sort of schizophenia (like Hurley?). Also, she was a genetic match to Locke.

I had forgotten how “in touch” with the island Locke was until I watched this. He was making references to his mission (my word) before he even got to the island. And when he and Boone were trying to open the hatch, he was hysterical when the instructions the island had given him did not work. What?! I have forgotten so much about this show! Gotta start watching back episodes!

I just wonder about his mother’s disappearance and institutionalization!

I like this theory AwsomeWhiterRabbit. Although, I’m disappointed that people gave negative votes to the spoiler I posted a few days ago. Very nice theory you have here though.

AWR, Given both of John’s parents backgrounds, I would suspect there is so much more to be learned about Locke, and his own special connection to “the island”.

We do know that “the losties” for the most part were brought to “the island” for specific reasons. I feel that Locke’s purpose there is to fulfill a great purpose.

I have always found the comments made by Locke’s mother to be telling, and you make some very good points about that. +1

Hey girl! Very creative. Your theory is very smartsounding with alot of big words, but just to comment on belle13, where she said that it would be cool if Jacob was Lockes father. If you have read my theory, I have written that Jacob, the mysterios cabin man thing, was really the bunny that Ben sent off into the wild in his flashback, when he wanted to purge the Dharma initiative. If my theory is true, than unless Locke is some sort of Man/ Bunny, I really doubt that the bunny was the father of Locke. +1 cause your awesome!!!!
