i think that the foot is from the statue of liberty, this may possibly be a refrence to clovefield the statue head is knocked off. just an idea if you want to post your ideas please do.
this is a stretch but maybe the island is future new york, that would explain the foot. the smoke could be the cloverfield monster’s soul. just a streched idea based on the lost-cloverfield relationship idea.

Don’t know if you were being serious or sarcastic. For the sake of debate, I’ll assume you were serious and point out that the Statue of Liberty has five toes, as shown in this photo of a full-scale replica located at the Statue of Liberty Musem.

In jakeps defense….one of Lady Libertys toes could have fallen off. Until someone else posts a reasonable explanation for the foot then I say anything goes.
