i think that the people who shot at alex and co. are the bare footed islanders or the others trying to get ben.
remember the bare footed islanders introduced at the begining of the series? i think tht they are hostiles who didin’t want to be part of the purge and i also want to know in the episode where charlie has the vision of claire at the beach in biblical clothes you can see something in hte top left of the shot. is it a trick or is it real? what is it? post ideas please im new so please dont get mad at stupid ideas/questions.

could be the barefooted islanders! i have heard that idea before and it is definately plausible, however i think it might be the freighter peoples. I like your idea that these people are hostiles that didnt want to be part of the purge. maybe their group split the same way as the losties group split? interesting +1.
