jacob……….
jacob could possibly be jack or john. or desmond. desmondo……….i believe that the island needs him and so he stays on the island. i think the island is the future and the losties r from the past. yep…this whole theory is loose, debunk it if u will. its prob so bad it dusnt even need to be debunked. is there any hope that desmond is jacob? and maybe adam and eve from season 1 r related to jacob somehow?

Ok, as far as TIME goes in the “Lost” universe…
CAN WE PLEASE STOP THE TIME theories?!
The writers are far more creative than that! Delving into time travel and such would mean their writing was a bit mediocre, and so far we’ve seen nothing that can prove that.
TIME TRAVEL would make this nothing more than a long, drawn out crappy episode of “The Outer Limits” or something like that; purely sci-fi.
Although I don’t know the answers, I’m fairly certain that time travel has ZERO TO DO WITH anything!
As long as we can muster up a mathematician, a geographer, an oceanographer and a geologist. . .
we should be fine.
I think the Polar Bears time travelled to the island… Im getting bored of Time theories too
Hear, hear!
Oh wait… I just posted one… damn…
Well… but it isn’t a “time travel” or “alternate timeline” theory!
But it talks about time so it probably still counts… damn…
I… I didn’t MEAN to do it… THEY MADE ME!!!!
DAMN YOU desmond DAVID HUME!!!!
Yeah, I’m afraid there’s a 4th dimensional aspect to the plot.
I don’t agree that time travel stories are uncreative. In fact, if you read about time travel theories, they are pretty amazing.
sorry, time has something to do with it. probably not as simple as a time machine, but related. too many clues, hints, arrows pointing to it from the creators. I think some of the most creative and fascinating theories and movies have been based around time issues. from the wizard of oz, alice in wonderland, the twighlight zone and rod serling, to stephen king….way too many references and clues pointing in that direction not to be. I’ve even read where Stephen Hawking weighed in on the time issue side as the most logical. If you don’t want that direction I guess we could go with either God, aliens, atlantis, or the 12 tribes of abraham? but my money is one something to do with moving through time and space and the manipulation of events with a bit of universal mysticism thrown in. or it could just be a bad rip off of the matrix but with an island twist.
Prof. Dont dis your post, seriously guys Time Travel is not uninventive it all depends on how they approach it. I think the time travel angle has alot of really interesting aspects and written properly could be a great plot to go forward with.
maybe jack and kate knew eachother before the island just not said anything i can’t reaaly see kate “breaking jacks heart” over a couple of months otherwise. and my god when will she ever freakin wash
I don’t think Jacob is any of the losties. I think Jacob is either a manifestation of the Island itself trying to take shape or form. Or it could be a person who lived on the island a long time back, who knew lots of its secrets and whats going to happen. If you look at Jacobs house it’s origin’s are from the 1800’s it said it on “wikipedia” Anyway then theres the conclusion of why would if its the island manifestation would it say “Help me?” well I have a feeling that it doesn’t make much sense why a island would say that which concludes it was at sometime a person. So this easily debunks the It could be Desmond, Jack, Locke. Not that i had hate the time theory just the fact that the structure is 1800’s why would some spirit that didn’t even make it live in it? It’s the basic rule of spirits they live in what they used live in. Anyhow interesting theory none the less.
