But The Others did not give alex back and she was angry so she worked with the main camp to blow them all up.

— TheHolyStickman

This was in episode 14 one of them. There are not many theory’s about this episode, but I think there should be as there is a lot to explain. This theory ranges from the season 1 right up the season 3 finale. Hope you enjoy ; )

Rousseau arranged with Ben to preted to capture him in order for ben to get into the hatch for reasons in my other theory (“Ben Hatch secrets Lockedown”).

Rousseau may have agreed with Ben that he would give back Alex if she compimised. Rousseau might have been held in a differant camp to the others or might have just been working with them for once and once only as she did try and work with the others to get Alex back in the season 1 finale in exchange for aaron.

Rousseau was looking for Sayid bacause she knew he would take him back into the hatch. As shown in the season 1 finlale she would do anything to get her baby back. But The Others did not give alex back and she was angry so she worked with the main camp to blow them all up.

When she did get Alex back in through the looking glass she still held a grudge against Ben and she wanted her daughter to help tie him up, also she knocked him out a few minuates later.

Rousseau really did come on a science expidition her team was captured by the others exept her and robert, she shot robert. Rousseau has worked with the others on odd occasions in exchange for safety and finally her daughter. alex

Sorry, but I think the K.I.S.S. principle suggests that Ben is an other, Rousseau is not, Alex was lied to.

You can pretend the “truth” is an iceberg, and everything the show’s revealed to us so far is a big lie, but the writers haven’t really been THAT mean to us. It’s been a bumpy road getting to our current point of Lost-Plot-Awareness, but I think you’re one of the unfortunate ones who can no longer trust anything anyone on the show says, because there’s been so much use of lying and double-cross already.

Rousseau is a lone wolf, but she has some splainin to do:

    • why did she not get sick when everyone on her science team supposedly did? we learn later from Kelvin there was no virus
    • why has smokey never gone after her in 16 years?
    • how is it possible she didn’t see the plane wreck?

It wouldbe a great twist if she was lying but Idon’t think she is

Shes the biggest mystery on the entire show brother. It seems to me , the logical thing for the losties to have done was capture her and beat the truth outa her. Shes a complete weirdo, creepy to boot. Sixteen years on the island, reunited with her daughter with the chance to escape, and she doesnt wanna leave the island???? She knows the score. Her and Good ol Des, are guides on the losties trek for redemption.

Stip, Smokey doesn’t go after everyone. It seems like he checked out Kate and then kinda left her alone. Ditto for Locke. Maybe he saw into Rousseau’s mind and soul and decided that she was okay?

Agreed, though that there are ridiculous holes in her story.

I certainly think there is more to Rousseau then meets the eye and agree with your observations. There is a lot more to her story!
