This theory is based on Desmond the Scapegoat? (Group 1ish) by nsnstvprk. You may wish to read it before continuing.
So many mysteries and only one answer: Why it crashed. Because Desmond didn’t push the button on time. But is it really that simple??? The plane was suppose to crash, but who would do it, how and why???
Who would have to means to do this? It has to be Hanso Foundation. The Hanso Foundation would know where the island is, what would happen if certain things aren’t done the right way (ex. pushing the button), also when the button has to be pushed (every 108 minutes).
Okay okay, lets say that is happened this way: The Hanso Foundation fears exposure due to certain peoples independent knowledge of island secrets. Most of these people are innocent and don’t know what the Hanso Foundation believes that they know.
One person books a flight on Oceanic Flight 815 and then the Hanso Foundation tries really hard to get everyone else on board. I don’t know who this person is but I believe it is someone important.
Okay, how? The Hanso Foundation was creating high tech piloting technology for Oceanic Airlines. This technology was called Artificial Intelligence Piloting System (AIPS). (see Hansoair.org). They claim that is was never used, but what if it was? In trying to solve the mystery behind the plane crash, the Hanso Foundation and authorities blamed a severe storm with unusual electo-magnetic readings. Lets say that the mentioned storm did knock out multiple flight electronics and confused mainland tracking systems, however this was planned. When all of the systems went out, the new AIPS kicked on and led the plane to the island. The plane did arrive at the same exact time that the button should have been pressed. What if the system failure was planned to suck the plane in. * Just occurred to me. The producers have said that there was a clue in the beginning that we all missed and I have heard that the clue was the name of the episode itself. What if it was, but not because of the pilot that dies, but because of the one that actually got them to the island.*
With this being planned, the Hanso Foundation helped in search and rescue. The plane was found and all of the dead. If the Hanso Foundation did help with searching, then the video that everyone saw could have been fake to officially end the search. Plus with the plane being unrecoverable, no one could disprove what the Hanso Foundation found.
Alright, why? The Hanso Foundation needed to get right of certain people or put certain people on that island. We’ll start with Claire. She is pregnant with Thomas’ baby. It is widely speculated that Thomas had once lived on the island. Maybe the Hanso Foundation wanted his baby to be born on the island, or at least not born in the “real world”. Her ticket was given to her by a psychic that was overly concerned about her baby.
Sawyers ticket was also provided for him. I don’t know why he has to be there, maybe has to do with the ‘Tallahassee Job’.
Jin and Sun were set up by the Hanso Foundation. Perhaps Mr. Paik unknowingly angered the Hanso Foundation. Paik could have been delivering watches to his Hanso Foundation associates. The guy in the bathroom at the airport threatening Jin actually worked for the Hanso Foundation and wanted to assure that they boarded that plane.
Kate was supposed to be on the plane. Although I don’t know why. Maybe her naval officer father (I know not real father) knew something and the Hanso Foundation thought that maybe he told her, or maybe the guy she blew up (real father) was part of Dharma Initiative, the possiblities are endless.
Walt, Vincent, and Michael were suppose to be on the plane. Walts stepdad Brian was suspicious of Walt and perhaps scared. Maybe he knows someone that may be interested in someone like Walt but didn’t want to go with him, so he got Michael to go. And well we all know that Vincent is special.
Its obvious why Hurley would be on the plane, he knows the numbers.
Libby. She was following Hurley from Austrailia to see what he may have learned from Martha Toomey (?). But she worked for Widmore.
Jack. The doctor famous for performing miracles (Sarah) was put on the plane to help the sick Dharma Initiative people that were left. Bens cancer was just a coincedence.
Charlie, I can’t figure him out yet. I don’t know why he was on the plane. Same goes for Boone and Shannon.
Sayid wasn’t suppose to be on the plane. He was suppose to fly a day earlier.
Last but not Least…Locke. I have a feeling that there is something special about Locke that noone knows about yet. Please see my post (johns twin)
That about sums it up. I hope that you enjoyed.
Well that could be right, but personally I see it as everyone made a choice that led them to get on that plane.
Jack: Argued to get his father’s corpse on plane
Kate: Saved the dude that ratted her out instead of running.
Charlie: Got angry at his bro and didnt stay in sidney and try to get of the drugs.
The list continues and maybe later I will make a theory on this. Hurley is a little more difficult though. Those numbers are pretty weird (flight 815 has 8 and 15 from the numbers in it)
Good points Hope.
Keep delving into the theories on this site. It is well worth the time.
See the “synchronisty” theory psoted here. Sorry, I can’t find the original poster’s name but it may help you understand some of the coincidences.
Good luck and thanks for comtributing.
I think they were all meant to be on the plane for unknown reasons. They are all connected so much to one another that it makes it so insane to beleive the plane crash was just an accident. Nice post Hope.
