When we see ” Ben’s mother” give birth to him they never say his name.

— givan

Here’s my theory. I might not add up but it would explain a few things.

Ben and locke are brothers and have been brought up on the island. Jacob could possibly be their father. It would explain why locke seems to know his way around the island and seems intent on stayin there. He doesn’t want to leave again. But he does not know this, and neither does Ben.

When we see ” Ben’s mother” give birth to him they never say his name. And after that we never see ben growing up. We just see him taken to the island and introduced to The curly haired dood( Bernard?) who seems to know ben, ” He’ll speak when he has something to say.”

I propose that is was LOCKE who was born in the woods near Portland and that roger was neither ben or locke’s father. ( which would explain the way ben talks to him just before he kills him)

Just my two cents.

Thoughts?

I think when Bens mother gave birth to him, just before she dies she told Roger to call him Benjamin.

Lockes mother is the one who helped con Locke into seeing his father, Cooper, so that inevitably Locke will donate his kidney to him.

I don’t think Ben and Locke are related, but who knows. :)

They are not related. Ben’s mother (Emily) definitely said before she died “Call him Benjamin”. It may be possible that Locke was originally born on the island. They never showed his birthplace. Ben was definitely not born on the island. Not a bad theory, but I dont think they are brothers, brotha!!

A lot of people think they are related. I think they do, but as a metaphor! We have seen Ben’s mother and John’s mother as well, they are not the same person! I would be more interest in why Ben’s mother insist in Roger for him to call his son Benjamin, and the relation of this name with Jacob in the Bible history (I know it has been discussed a little bit before). The relation is a metaphor : Benjamin is the younger son of Jacob, the only one who was not born in Canaan. Benjamin was not born on the island and it seems to be a problem….I would look for that kind of relation in between Ben and John, a metaphoric relation. Jonh is also very present in the bible…

lostsemiotic: the implication to the Biblical reference being that Benjamin has an older brother who was born on the island?

    Interesting.
