Help I need somebody, Help not just anybody

— sleepz

I know everyone is hating these time line theories now and these theories are really beginning to bug people but………………………………………………………

I just wanna throw this one out there for good measure. If you absolutely hate time line theories stop reading now.

Its really a cry for help from my friendly community…………………….

Imagine for just one moment that Jack had two time lines

Time line a) Jack doesn’t get to his father on time and his father dies in Sidney Time Line b) Jack gets to his father and brings him home

In one time line Jack would be on the island alone, in the other theory there is a strong possibility that Christian would have also survived the crash and been there as well.

Imagine if these two realties crossed.

Could this explain why Jack sees his dad on the island wearing the white shoes we see hanging in a tree in another time line,

Also if each of these characters had different time lines with different outcomes could this explain some of the other stuff we have seen on the island. Facing the fact that Jack is probably one of the least important characters (as he has been pasted in) this can’t be the central point I am just struggling to find other characters that this would apply to and need some help.

I disagree that he would be able to see his father if they were on different timelines. Jacks dad is seen more as a ghost who can’t communicate with Jack on the island. I think Jacks dad is there only as a ghost which could be a result of his coffin being stored on the plane heading back for a proper funeral and crashing.

Yeah thats the simple answer for sure, but as I requested in the post “Imagine if”. I’m more asking for other examples that the ‘could’ be relevant in other characters

Perhaps there is a case for this with Des also. He seems to embody the meeting of timelines. Could this explain the multiple photos of him and Penny?

I don’t know. I just can’t make up my mind on the whole timelines thing…

Oh and of course Locke if we are to go with the idea that Locke from a previous loop is the dead man in the trench…

yeah, i like the thoughts about locke from a different timeline, I have always thought that it would be possible for different timelines to epicentre on the island. We here have the thoughts about charlie programming the computer in a different timeline for example. I however don´t really buy just that part of it yet. To me this seems like making to much out of a single comment. The more probable explanation is that the character Charlie wasn´t interesting anymore, and had to go to keep up the forward momentum of the show. So they needed a mission for him that only he could solve, and what´s his speciality, what he is the only one who could do? Music of course. Much more likely than “he programmed it”. But since this is a collection of possibilitys, why not.

By the way, I don´t agree that Jack has to be a “not to important” character just because they said in the extramaterial that he was supposed to die in the pilot. I meen this was like their first days of shooting that they changed that, and since they decided to keep him around as the hero of the show that the public identified with it´s clear to me that they made his part important, probably taking over some of the threads from some other character. I meen, so far we didn´t know anything about anyone. The writers are smart, and wouldn´t keep someone around for that long, playing that big of a role, if it weren´t to meen anything in the end. Keeping jack around clearly changed the character of Kate, so why shouldn´t it also have changed the character of Jack. I meen in early stages of the work Sawyer was ment to be some sort of highrolling wallstreet guy. They changed that to. Believe me, jack IS an important character of the show.

Well, this could have some merit…since we are just pretending…perhaps (in another time line) locke finds his father in sydney and they reconcile, then fly home together and the plane crashes and johns father gets captured by the others… but remember, just pretending. :)

Yes, the Incident opened up a door to all parallel universes, as well as to all geographic points on Earth.

    That’s my best guess.

Yes, Mykel, I like it; perhaps the incident, or the system failure, opened the door to the parallel universe. I’m not sure I understand the second part, “as well as to all geographic points on Earth.” Please explain.

sleepz, the crossing time lines may also explain the “whispers.” Might also explain Hurley’s Dave; don’t know.

I actually think this holds some weight, I know we are only imagining this could be the case but it would be a simple yet effective way of explaining some of the mysteries such as

    • Why Ben seems to know thins in advance
    • Jacob could be caught between tielines
    • Jack seeing is father
    • Charlie programming the computer
    • etc etc.

+1 from me, a good post with great imagination.
