LOST-Theories.com

You have to click on the palm tree, then the dharma logo and then the dharma logo again….but its worth it ….I think

I found this site really interesting, so Im posting it for you all. Sorry if its not new to you.

I have always believed that colours are used to portray certain emotions and underlying motives of the characters, and this link tries to tie it all together.

The site is a bit tricky..you basically have to return to home page after you read each topic.

I found the page about the Bagua and the page on Synaesthesia to be informative. Interestingly, John Locke was the first person to reference the condition and Dostoesvky was a sufferer. http://www.lucidity.es/

I had trouble putting up the direct link. You have to click on the palm tree, then the dharma logo and then the dharma logo again.

Another point that doesnt seem to be on the site is that you often see a character who is conflicted in some way wearing check and stripe shirts.Any one else notice this?

wtf—couldn’t get to the site unfortunately. I have noticed both Locke and Jack wearing shirts with grid patterns—is that what you mean?

Hiya WTF! I did notice the checks and stripes, in particular with Charlie. Interesting topic of discussion. +1

One other colour scheme prominent in Lost is red and blue. In Desmond’s photos with Penny, he is wearing a red shirt in one, whilst in another a blue shirt. The writers have said that the viewers will learn the significance of the colours in future.

Also, each of the seven Chakra’s in our bodies have a specific colour which signifies each one of them, and is why some people can see colours in other people’s auras.

I have some info on this subject. Also, with each Chakra and colour there is a musical note on the scale which corresponds. It’s kind of interesting.

oooo, dabbie…do you think that could have to do with the code for Through the Looking Glass? I was just looking stuff up about Chakras to respond to Prof’s “Happy Birthday Ben” post (which is now on page 2 I think)—one site I was looking at said there were 8 Chakras? Was trying to see if I could make correspondences to the different Dharma stations and I did see one correspondence: The Swan—The Swadhistahna—located at the tailbone, associated with pitilessness, total destruction, delusion, disdain, suspicion.

yep jaz, you see Jack and Locke both wearing the grid pattern shirts (Locke in his FBs). Flash forward Jack is wearing a stripe shirt, perhaps he’s conflicted somehow about whether he has done the right thing or not in leaving the island. Kate has a stripe shirt on when she returns from rescuing Jack( and goes to Sawyers tent).

The writer of the color theory believes red represents deception,(Jack is wearing it when he is keeping Juliets secret from the losties) and perception(Desmond laying in the paint in Flashes), danger etc is orange.(Kates colours, often)

Blue is the color of protection and health.Whenever someone with an injury is being treated, there is a significant amount of blue around them. Desmond is wearing blue whilst protecting Charlie, Jack is wearing it when he takes the losties to the radio tower and interestingly Kate is wearing it in the FF.

Green is the color of fertility(often worn by Sun and Jin around conception time),but I think it also has something to do with the actual influence of the island and its also the color of death.(worn by Boone and Libby,Pickett and a couple of randoms).

the link works for me, sorry if its a dud. The theorist is much better at explaining her theories than I am.

It worked for me too, wtf. Very interesting! +1 for now, I’m going to take a better look in the morning. It’s past my concentrating time here!!

I will get back to you, though, this stuff looks really good.

I found what I was looking for pertaining to the Chakras, Colours and Musical Notes on the Scale.

Root Chakra; Colour; Red; Musical Note; “Doh”

Spleen Chakra; Colour; Orange; Musical Note; “Reh”

Solar Plexus Chakra; Colour; Yellow; Musical Note; “Me”

Heart Chakra; Colour; Green; Musical Note; “Fa”

Throat Chakra; Colour; Blue; Musical Note; “So”

Brow (Third Eye) Chakra; Colour; Indigo; Musical Note; “Lah”

Crown Chakra; Colour; Violet; Musical Note; “Ti”

FYI: There are some interesting links which are available if you want in depth details, and meanings. Of interesting note; When the Chakra’s are out of alignment, they emanate different colours, which are attached to the emotions.

I think you did a splendid job at explaining, WTF. Sounds really interesting. I will try the link. Thanks

Thanks for the explanation, wtf—that’s really cool. I think the one I find most interesting is the red meaning both deception and perception—kind of slotted into how I’ve been thinking about Ben.

The “grid” patterns—I don’t know what they mean—but Pickett says something about Alex showing up on “the grid” when she’s not supposed to be there, and I think Desmond’s mural has a grid pattern over what I took to be the island (I think?—I seem to remember Sham saying that it might have stood for something else).

The link actually works for me—it’s that second time that I click the Dharma logo that doesn’t work—I get a page in spanish which I assume is telling me that the page isn’t loading, but anyways I thought you did a good job summarizing :-) I went somewhere else on the site that had Sawyerisms—that was fun :-)

wtf, Thanks for posting about this site. I don’t know how you find this stuff! If you click on the headphones & the heart there is just a whole lot of other stuff on this site like videos & photographs etc. I guess I’m not telling you anything you didn’t already know though. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, ,and want to wish you and everyone on here a very Safe & Happy New Year !! :-)) +1

Maybe the significance of the clothing worn has to do with what was on top of the pile in the costume department.

Some of the people that compile this info have waaaaayyyy too much time on their hands.

Checked it out but haven’t gotten through all the colors yet. Interesting but takes concentration, and seeing the same color in shot after shot is kind of hypnotizing.
