Oh oh, Kates gonna leave the island and Sawyer won’t even remember her.

Hi guys.Coming up to season 4, and theories have been mostly exhausted, but I wanted to throw this one at you while you’ve got the Christmas spirit. I think there may have been hints about the future plots in early season 3 . I really think the convo that Kate has with Rousseau at the creek before they went to Othersville was a hint. Kate asks Rousseau why hadn’t she tried to contact Alex before, and Dannielle replies that if Kate was in the same situation and knew that someone she loved wouldn’t even know or remember her she would understand.
When I heard this I immediately thought, Oh oh, Kates gonna leave and Sawyer won’t even remember her if she comes back. Something is going on here.Ben and Mikhail say the same thing to the Losties…how could I know you?
The Losties are known to the Others. The Losties just don’t remember them.
Basically what Im suggesting is that leaving the island…not how Des did, as he was turned around…but really leaving, somehow affects the reality of the people left …or the people that leave. Most likely its a situation where time moves differently on and off the island (which seems to be a given).
I think Kate doesn’t want to go back because she knows that whoever is left behind won’t even remember them. I think the Losties could be DI with memory implants to fool Smokey.
Dont worry, I know I’m not making loads of sense, and this is just my guess at what might be going on but I thought I would throw it out there.

I gree that the conversation in question could be a clue of things to come and perhaps Kate will be in a situation where she’s faced with someone not remembering her. Not enough to go on to determine for sure who, or how that might happen , although good bets would be those closest to her. Or maybe it was a general clue about the losties in general being faced with this. I’m probably not making much sense here (it’s early), but I see what you’re saying and think there’s some good possibilities.
wtf, I just made a long-winded comment about your theory and gave you a +1. Then when I went to Preview, somehow I got logged off and the comment was Lost!!!
Suffice to say I liked the direction you are going with this theory. It would be a unique twist and I hope the Losties aren’t DI.
Damn that first comment was sooo much better…
Cool thinking, wtf. Could be.
+1 from me!!!
Wow, wtf, I really like it—it fits in with all the other kinds of manipulations I think and helps explain Kate in FF.
Drive by +1…
How does Locke know that the Black Pearl was headed off the East Coast of Africa to a mining colony?? This is when kate, jack and locke are searching for the dynamite in season 1. K and J both look at each other in a way to say “how the hell does he know that”?? I think they have definately been to the island before, wtf well spotted.
If certain losties dont get rescued, they’ll rememeber the other losties that did if they return, whoa! i nearly said others! Maybe the concept is a cycle of people trying to be rescued and everytime this happens, they are known as others if they return???!!!
+1 got me thinking
Mind implants….Magnificent This idea fits perfectly with a previous post as to the possibility of the Others using the implant technology for more than just rendering a sudden sickness (like Claires).

I too subscribe to the implants being a part of the real mysteries of the island. They would ‘explain’ how the memories are read (Smokie) and how the Others seem to know so much more about the survivors than just a few facts that a background check would reveal
Oh yeah…. A Big +1 from me
I think it’s more likely that the Losties are ‘compelled’ not to remember by having the people they care about and their freedom threatened. If there was a way for people to get off the island without remembering being there, why all the effort to keep them from leaving? Why not kidnap every Lostie and brainwash them and send them back to the real world? And how does Jack remember Kate and feel like he needs to go back? I can see the Losties having crossed-paths with the Others previously and not realizing it, but I can’t see them being brainwashed to forget the island. It would really ruin the show don’t you think?
I am reaching rise, thats for sure. I didn’t think that Jack and Kate can’t remember the island. I thought that if they went back to the island, they might not be remembered by any one they left behind.
My other suggestion was that maybe the Losties were known to the Others (not necessarily from the island), but that the Losties had had their memories modified so that they could not be instantly recognised by Smokey/the Island.
love it wtf +1
it will be great if the losties where new generation DI
