These two have a lot of connections and similarities. Both brilliant in their field with the odd miracle thrown in. Both have feelings of inadequacy to lead.She says shes a mess/he doesnt have what it takes.
Ben has managed to manipulate Juliet by promising Jacob will cure her sister. I think Ben knows Claire is Jacks sister and this is the ace up his sleeve. Can we trust Juliet? We’ve only seen her flashbacks before Goodwin was murdered. She could be as keen on revenge of the Losties as Jack is with the Others. The Others could have staged a mock trial after she killed Pickett . This made Jack feel responsible and protective. The mark on her back might have even been her initiation in to the inner circle of the Others. The only thing that makes me doubt this theory is that she says she hates Ben in the medical hatch.But that could be more to do with her involvement with the pregnant women and possibly feeling bad about lying to them.(Maybe Sun is pregnant to Jai)

You could be right, but I still prefer to believe that Jack is playing Juliette. I think thats why he acts all lovey dovey with her, then tells Kate he loves her as soon as Juliette runs off with Sawyer.

You could add that Ben flat out told Juliet that she is not leaving the island until her work is finished (work that she knows is pointless).
I think Juliet has some real and justified resentment toward Ben and is being sincere with Jack and the Losties. So unless Ben is holding something else over her head, I think she has switched sides.
You make a good case though and it could go that route. Juliet knows Ben was able to show her her sister in real time and knows Ben is capable of killing to get his way. Who is to stop him from having anyone of the others’ family members whacked? Think of Juliet’s hubby.

Anyway…..back to my theory :-) I found it odd that Ben should trust Juliette with the mission to go to the Losties camp just a couple of weeks after her being on trial as a traitor(basically) I also found it odd that Tom seemed so surprised when Ben tells him on the Walky that Juliette betrayed them.

Yeah, the whole dynamic surrounding Ben’s surgery and promise to let J&J go and Juliet shooting Danny so Kate and Sawyer can escape just doesn’t add up.
I have a feeling it is Ben making his “moves”. I think Ben mentions to Locke that he had to keep his word to let Jack and Juliet go despite what she (they) had done.
Tom is a dupe. Thats why he was so surprised. Glad he and patchy won’t be back.
I don’t see the connections/similarities between Jack and Juliet except for them being doctors, of course. As for the rest, I want to believe that Juliet has changed sides, but I’m just not there yet. I do think Jack is playing her.
And I agree it was odd that Ben sent her on the mission just after being on trial for being a traitor. Ben definitely doesn’t trust her anymore. Like you said, he warned Tom that she betrayed them.
Im with kat exactly. I dont think we can really trust juliette either, but im also with lockeko in that I think jack is playing her…I think jack made some decisions that he didnt tell anyone.

even if ben knows, is jack or claire gonna believe him w/o tests, unless there is a widmore dna test on the plane too
I bet Christians wallet is on the island.Jack probably has it as he found it in the hotel room. Photo id would probably do it for Claire. Annie: I really do feel that there is similarities being shown between Jack and Juliet. Another interesting thing is that Ben and Locke are on the same page when it comes to keeping them on the island.And the conflict between Ben/juliet and Locke/Jack are similar.

WTF I just came across this which is kind of annoying. Honestly that is the last time I visit family on a weekend. It takes me away from the important stuff.
Totally excellent call on the Juliette front. She is too fake to be true. I am convinced she is still an Other. And btw, she is welcome to Jack. He may as well be an Other now. He is SO annoying. Sorry Jaters.
