This may well be random babble

— sleepz

Thanks to some of the great theories posted on here lately my mind is once again doing overtime and the popcorn is flowing, so donning my tin foil hat I will attempt to answer (in a funny sleepz sorta way) some questions in my head on Christian Sheppard using the new found knowledge we have from the Orchid video.

It is my (not very firm) belief that Christian was recruited by the Others in a similar way to Juliette and was invloved in the movement. While briefly on the island Christian and the Others were continuing the Dharma’s research on time manipulation focusing on two instances of the same being sharing the same time slot. The experiment was to prove how long two instances could share the same time slot before causing issues.

Christian was used as the rabbit and went through the process. One instance of Christian was sent back to civilization whilst the other was confined to the island. Having two instances of the same matter sharing time led to each of the subjects ‘sharing feelings and memories’ which eventually drives Christian to drink and depression which ultimately leads to his death suffering a drink induced heart attack.

Once the body was back on the island the two subjects become ‘to close’ to one another and the non original subject vanishes leaving a sealed empty coffin.

Prior to the rescue I think Jack will discover this truth and have to make a decision to either take Christian with him back to civilization and say nothing or rat him out to the rescuers as a member of the movement. Jack will make the decision to take him, but will turn out to be a similar con as the Locke’s Dad con. Does Jack have to choose ( a common theme for Jack) between his father and one of the other survivors or even Juliette. This could be what’s eating him up so badly, his desperate need for his Fathers love respect and forgiveness leads him to make the worst choice he has ever made as a leader.

Thanks to all the great theorists here for prompting this post, it is a real pleasure to be part of this group

    ooh. very interesting.

One observation though. We are NOT talking about “clones”, so there is not an “original” entity, but TWO entities that are in another time/space and it seems that BOTH entities cease to exist if they come in contact with each other.

But what if one of two entities just dies, the other one can still live on without any problem in another time/space no? So maybe that’s what hapenned yes. Jack might find his father on the Island (from another time/space) and will bring him back. There will no risk of both entities to have contact, since the other Chirstian already died… Nice Nice .. +1

lost118: after reading your comment 10 times I finished by understanding what the heck you were saying.

You may be making a point. I always wondered why they showed us this story about the spiders. Maybe it really has more meaning than just the story between Nikki and Paulo.

Nikki said that the venom of the Medusa won’t kill but will cause a paralysis for approximately 8 hours.

Wasn’t the Oceanic flight time 8 hours before they crashed?

    Wow… :)

xiv: this would be good if dr shepard is behind this and really did make the plane crash bcoz 8hours matches with the paralysis from the spiders venom and the plane crashing , this would also mean desmond is working with the others and dr sheppard told desmond to crash the plane at this time but who knows?

it would be a great thought except that had the plane stayed on course it would have crashed over open water not an unknown cloaked island

Christian Shephard as a manipulator - I love it.

SleepZ: didn’t Jack’s reaction to the empty coffin surprise you? If I were Jack, I would have had the most puzzled face wondering wtf is going on? I would search around the cave for the body, etc. But instead of acting confused, Jack flips out, almost as if he knows Christian has pulled one over him - again.

    What do you think?

Great theory, right up my street! A def +1! I also think the spider theory could be equally plausible tho! Whatever happens I’m certain Christian Shepard is going to major player in the series to come!
