We all very well no that the Others were no strangers to the Dharma Initiative. We have learned this in one of the latest episodes when a 4 membered group finds another Dharma site with some animals outside it. Not only do they find that but they find a man inside posing as a Dharma man, when in actuality he is not. Once inside they find out that the other’s were called the Hostiles by the Dharma initiative way back in that day.

My theory stems from this. We already know that Dharma was a group of people taking place or conducting experiments. What is Hanso himself was conducting a mad mans experiments and was actually in charge of both the Dharma initiative and the Hostiles? The others are constantly talking about a great man, and I think that this might be who it is. I think he might have wanted to see what happened between the groups. I have many theories that might contradict this, like the black smoke is what kills the Dharma people off, of that Jack’s dad is really behind everything.

This is short and I don’t really have any evidence to support it but none the less it is a theory.
