It warrents looking into. Without having done so as of yet, my guess would be YES, if it can heal it can do the opposite as well. This is a truly plausible explanation so far as to why Ben has a tumor while everyone else gets cured. Could prolonged exposure cause insanity? Hallucinations? Infertility? Birth defects in newborns? Growth abnormalities? Maybe the others really did have good intent in taking children.

Good point, is it similar to radiation? If EM is able to heal but also endanger? Confuse me some more, the damage is done.

I’m no doctor, but just going on general info— radiation therapy is used with some success to treat cancer cells, kill or retard the growth. But at the same time, too much too often exposure can cause cancer in healthy cells. So it would seem that here, the same thing could put Rose’s existing cancer into remission while causing cancer in Ben’s healthy cells.

Depending upon how long he has had the tumor, if he has only had it for a few months then perhaps when the island healed Rose of her cancer it was simply passed onto someone else. If this were true then someone else is paralysed!

in low doses, it cures, in high doses, it kills. repeating myself from your other post related to this— if ben was somewhere that the others were not, somewhere no one goes to because of the danger, but someone had to for some reason, he could have gotten cancer. but the island that heals could then have retarded the growth so he’s not dead.
