first i think every time a theory is right or close to the truth then the directors of lost read it and change it so we are always wrong
i think that the guy with the eypach is in the flame station and he controles the black smoke i think its his initiative to make sure no one leaves the island and he has to watch them and see who is good who is bad and who is coping on the island and thats why the smioke scanes their thoughts and killed eko because he has done bad things in his life…also thats why it didnt kill locke in season 1 it draged him to take him to a station where the eyepach guy whould be and locke said to jack let me go i will be ok he knew it wouldnt kill him…….i think only some bits of my theary might actualy be true

I’m not convinced, but it’s worth considering. What would be his purpose for doing this? (Is he a scientist, a sociopath, or ??) And how is he controlling the smoke?
I believe that the smoke creature trying to take locke was just a part of the islands plan to build up his faith, as i have said in one of my theories.
