Noticed an inconsistency… in the episode, we had a flash-forward… What threw me off on the timing was the presence of Oceanic Airlines early on. http://oceanic-air.com/ shows that the airline went out of business. I’m not saying that it is outside the realm of possibility that the airline was resurrected, but it definitely brings up some consistency issues…
So, I went to the Oceanic Air website, and noticed some text behind the graphic. If you copy and paste it, this is what it says:
“If anyone should find this message, please get word I’m alive and stranded on an island somewhere in the South Pacific. Please send help soon. Things are bad. And they’re getting worse…”
May be insignificant, but interesting…
JSH - prompted by your post, I just went to the Oceanic Air website and copied and pasted the text you mention… I see a large jpeg image in addition to the text you describe!
The image shows two pencil drawings, one of New York city and the other a heavily bandaged man on a hospital type bed with a birthday cake on his lap.

Hmm… examining the page source reveals even more text:

My big question is: How is whom ever is stranded editing these web pages!

I also went on the website. I copied and pasted and what I got was a jpeg of Claire’s plane ticket. What I want to know is who’s Sally?

If you click on the “taking you places you’ve never imagined “logo, and then zoom in. You can see the pirate ship on its way to the island, i think i saw Captain Jack Sparrow on the mast as well. if you then pan right you can see a freaky piranha fish type shape in the clouds………………….or do i need to get some sleep?

I just went to the website http://oceanic-air.com/ On the Quick Search, click on the Green Button FIND.( I didn’t see the ‘ other man’ clip.) This will take you to the seating arrangements. The first time I pulled up the page the seat 42F changed colors, and when mouse over revealed Lucia Ana. Later I did the same and then clicked on the 42F and a Flash video of the plane crash came up. Be advised this is with sound, and it sure gave me a fright. Another time the 27G was highlighted and when I clicked on , it was a Flashing Badge of the Marshal Office, Edward Mars. There is lot of things to find on this site. Click on Pre-Board Check in and you will find- Ethan Ron- with boxes under his name. You can move the letters of his name into the boxes. Haven’t found out yet as to what will happen when you click on the boxes.
About the plane Ticket. After you copy and paste it in word, view it as a webpage, then you will see almost all of the ticket.

Speaking of inconsistencies, did anyone else notice that in the scene where Jack is speaking to the new surgeon after Jack was caught stealing drugs that Jack says find his father and if his father isnt drunker than him they can fire him????
Isnt Jack’s father dead? If it is a flashforward then Jack’s father should be dead. Just something that caught my attention.

I’ve been trying to work out whos funeral it was since this aired. While watching for the second time I had a brain wave. I think it’s Michael. The reason Jack is so upset is because he is the only one that knows the bearings of the island as he left on the boat. Another fact to confirm this is that no one went to his funeral, who would after killing and setting up his friends? And there is a chance that they returned, was that really Walt??

it looks as if it has been signed by sally.
as “sally” was in italics whereas the rest wasnt.
Also, the message on the Oceanic flight also mentions the name ‘Sally’.

Did anyone notice the oceanic website page with the seating arrangements that the one with Shannon was kinda odd. It showed a passport typy ID of Sayid. His birthday was 17/01/1969. Now i have never put in a theory before, but maybe its not about time continuems and all, but that somehow us as a civilization had added 5 extra months to the calander… or we took 5 months off??? So that could be a factor into the time issues on the show. ( i could be way off though…..who knows?)
